the CURRENT guideline set by the fda, manufacturers of the tests, and the cdc...is 3 months post exposure for a conclusive test result.
Ok, you need to be patient...people answer questions for free and on our own time.
3 months is conclusive. I believe the dr's on this site say 8 weeks is conclusive or good in most situations but here on this forum we use the 3 months because that is the approved time frame.
Please could someone answer my question? I m dyiing with anxiety.....
Please Vance , could you answer my question? I m dyiing with anxiety.....
Hi Vance,
Thanks for answering, I had protected sex but during the act the condom broke.
So I did go ahead and tested for HIV 1 and 2 using the elisa test. It came out negative.
So far I havent had any symptoms but I was wondering if I should take another test or is the 6 weeks test conclusive?
This is not the Dr's forum. If ou want free advice tell us your risk and we will let you know if testing was even necessary.
