ARS - Worried?

by Notequal, Aug 14, 2008 01:55PM
About two weeks ago had a sexual encounter with a woman I have been talking with for a while.  She says is negative.

Come Monday (16 days) I start to feel a tad run down.  No real fever 99.2 highest, no nausea, no rash, slight headache.  I do however been experiencing slight pain in my right groin area (on and off), like tender and very tender under my left arm near my pec which doesnt reside.  Got me worried as its in numerous spots not just one area.  Have to wait a few weeks to get tested.

Could ARS appear as just some tender glands or would there be more?  Would the gland be tender and painful with ARS too?  Could it be in just one arm and not the other etc?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Symptoms are not A valid indicator for an hiv infection. I am sure you are just paronoid about this encounter and reading the net for symptoms isnt going to do anything for you but add fuel to the fire. Only testing will give you your status test at 6 weeks then get a conclusive at 3 months post exposure

there are soooooooooo many posts regarding this!

only a doctor can confirm swollen lymph nodes.  lymph nodes that are swollen due to ars are not painful and they are located throughout the body...not in just one place.

Yes i know, I should have worried before, but I didnt.  Will def get tested in 6 weeks.

Probably bringing the headache on myself.  Just the tender underarm got me worrying followed by another painful area.  I have read numerous boards and post but never read of just swollen nodes or tender lymph areas.

Nodes wouldn't be tender from ARS unless you were constantly poking and prodding them.

Thanks for the help.

Out of curiousity would just swollen, or tender glands in arm, neck and groin be sufficient for ARS.

nope

NO it would not. If you have a concern see your doctor to be diagnosed. You can't do it yourself.
