ARS Medical Strategy

Encounter with a prostitute 6 weeks ago, protected everything, but unprotected oral, me to her, her to me. 4 weeks ago one day of fever to 100.5.  Ok for a couple of weeks, then start of symptoms last couple of weeks:  low grade fever, easy fatigue, back pain on and off,never above 99.6, mild headache, no sore throat, no rash, hard to tell about swollen glands, if so minor, and for last week, very frequent urination, like 30 times a day, 10 times a night...so question is when I go see the doctor tomorrow:  Should I let testing for other things run their course and hope for the best and from what I've read on this forum the most logical outcome, i.e. some other problem than HIV.  Or should I tell all and go through testing.  There are ramifications re:  records of test for all to see, including wife, as well as other confidentiality issues.
Any advice?

they have anonymous testing that you could do. Internet sites, I used tstd.org, but you usually have to pay with credit card, I used my debit card. So pick a card your wife doesn't use or see the bill to.

i think you should get yourself tested for other bacterial STD's now, syphlis & herpes at around 3 months. This is not an HIV situation and whoever is asking you to get tested for HIV need to shut up and shove their advice up their own behinds.

You don't need a test, deal with your anxiety !

Thanks all...I felt better and am dealing with my anxiety.  Yesterday was Father's Day and it centered me on the positive outcomes, even though I don't feel well...I will go to the Doctor today and present all of my symptoms, the most dramatic of which I can find no evidence of connection to ARS....the last 3 days I have passed urine about 35 times a day...
One question...ARS fever is pretty high right?  My fever has never gone above 100, and is one and off...
