ARS questions

I just have a few quick questions. I've read that the appearance of symptoms after a possible HIV exposure is an unreliable way of determining HIV status. I'm wondering that if someone is concerned about a possible exposure, would the ABSENCE of ARS symptoms be a pretty good indicator of not having HIV? What percentage of people develop symptoms after acquiring HIV, and is it a fact that some people don't develop symptoms after getting HIV, or could that be false information given by the patient due to lack of memory; or something along those lines? Responses will be appreciated :-) Thanks.

I'm absolutely positive. I did not have any signs or symptoms. I was never sick. I have had routine HIV test every six months since the tests came available.

Sorry to hear about ur diagnosis. But another personal question to ask you, was it due to unpotected sex, bc I always use protection but I am so scare about getting hiv. And my last protected anal (me top) exposure i did not check the condom carefully but nothing leaked out I think, should i even get tested for hiv, thank you teak.

I could have contracted HIV in several ways. If you used a condom and it didn't fail then you have no concern. If a condom fails you won't have a problem knowing that it failed.

I had ask the same question about how many people will get ARS, reassurance said that it was 50%-90%, and i have done some research also and on thebody.com, one reply by an hiv specialist said that it was around 80% or more of the time but most people might not even think that it was hiv. And some people just have no symptoms wahsoeva, thats some scary ****. Symptoms are not good indicators but I will assume all of a sudden you have a flu with a fever of 104,rashes, diarreahe and the whole nine yards out of nowhere then the probability of u having hiv is quite high(scary). But most expert would say symptoms does not equal hiv., which is reassuring and u can cross ur fingers for a negative result at 3 month mark. Im paranoid about hiv!!!

Symptoms or the lack of symptoms is no way a way to diagnosis HIV.

would the ABSENCE of ARS symptoms be a pretty good indicator of not having HIV?

No, the absent of ARS symptoms is not a good indicator of not having HIV. I didn't have any ARS symptoms. If someone has symptoms later on that are HIV+ it is not because of ARS.

You said that u did not have ARS, are u positive? Sorry to ask. Symptoms or no symptoms have no meaning to one is infected or not per experts. Only sure way to know is getting tested. On the body.com, many said that they have had flu like symtoms (symptoms) and the whole nine yrd and ended up being negative at their 3 months mark, but having symptoms can make u go through a state of hysteria.

rule is simple.
the moment you look for ARS, you will see rashes everywhere in your body, you will see lymph nodes all over.
search symptoms of anxiety and you will understand that these are not part of ARS.

well, you need to accept that symptoms are not an indicator to check whether you have HIV or NOT.

hence testing at the right time, will tell you.

test at 4th week if you cant hold on.
a 6th week result is considered conclusive. means you are home free..

some agencies recommend 3 months (12 weeks) for those who have shaken immune system.
