I have read the forum and understand that I was in a no risk situation but I still have to ask. I need to know if this is ARS related which I am sure the answer I am going to get back is that I was not at risk and ARS is not clear and I am just driven from anxiety which is probably true but I can’t comprehend that.
It has been a little over two weeks since my exposure to a HIV
, my chances are slim and I would have to be the luckiest man in the world to get the virus. My case would go down in history and I would get my 5 seconds of fame in the HIV
nor night sweats and I don’t have swollen lymph nodes (My doctor confirmed this; she said that they were tendons in my neck.) What I am experiencing is a headache, comes and goes, for the past three days- I have this feeling in my neck which is like a stiff neck but it is more the feeling that you get when you want to cry and you are holding it back, that has been with me for 4 days now. The first day, my neck was extremely sore but I guess I may have just pulled my neck although I don’t remember doing so… still, it has been 4 days and that feeling has not went away. And finally, I get this nausea feeling that comes and goes; I have had this feeling for three days now as well. The first day that this started happening, I do remember feeling weak. I do feel fine now besides for those three problems which is worrying me. It is funny how these feelings popped up at exactly two weeks. I really am just concerned, probably more anxiety than anything but I can’t seem to let it go. I know that my condom failed or that I got the virus through oral. (Even though my risk was ZERO) The condom did not break. So I can’t judge HIV off these symptoms and I would more than likely be feeling a lot worse if it really was ARS. Thanks for the help and I am sorry to post so long but I need some opinions.
I know you said Move On but I wanted to post an update. It has been three weeks since exposure. I have developed some more symptoms and would like to know if they are related to ARS.
1. I still have the headaches. It is pretty constant. Does this feel like a whole head headache or a sinus headache?
2. The pain in the neck (which I know I am :-) ) is gone now.
3. I am sneezing and have a runny nose that turns to a blocked nose that goes back to a runny nose- this just started yesterday
4. Nausea feeling that I had, I haven’t felt it for a day or two that I can remember.
5. Dizziness and I swear that I am just not thinking right. I have felt this for about 5 days now...
I am the only one who thinks I am not feeling right, where I just know something is wrong. I am freaked out but I have to say that I am feeling better about the whole situation from when it first happened regardless if I have it or not because there is nothing I can do now.
Is sneezing and a runny nose and a slight cough a symptom of ARS. I don’t think it is but I am not sure. It is becoming the flu season and I do have allergies and my eyes water sometimes. Am I stressing for nothing? I just don’t feel right and can’t help thinking that it is all HIV related.
Any help, advice, criticism, name calling, anything would be better than nothing. hehe- Thanks for everything everyone does on this forum :-)
hiv is transmitted through...
unprotected vaginal/anal intercourse
sharing iv drug works
mother to child
now which one of those categories do you fit into? NONE ! ! !
your symptoms are from some common, everyday illness OR anxiety (which is my guess) of course...it sounds like you have now caught a COMMON COLD...lol. it's NOT hiv...period...no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
hahah, it is just my luck that I would catch the common cold during a time of extreme worries. It really is just weird, I NEVER get sick, ever. Last time I was sick was probably 5 or 6 years ago and even then, I think I just faked it to stay home from school and be lazy. I never get sick which is why I am just a little freaked out. Well, I am not sick since I don’t have a fever nor have I had a fever. I just need to get over it and wait it out for another 2 months to take the test to ease my mind even though testing is not necessary. I'll post back with my results and hopefully, when I do test NEG, these posts will help ease the minds of some (that I am sure everyone will see because everyone uses the search feature to look for this kind of stuff if they think they show signs of ARS haha). . If I am POS, well, that will be a different story but that chapter can be opened when and if it comes :-)

Thanks ;-) I needed that. I know you get fed up with answering and re-answering (especially for the past 3years (maybe longer, I have not gone back that far)) but I just wanted to post an update and get an answer. I think it could benefit others later in this forum to see a post where a guy was with a POS woman, received oral and had sex with a condom, experienced symptoms and came out NEG... I know you might not care to have this in your bag to throw at people when they freak out but it could benefit others. Sorry for taking up 5 to 10 minutes of your morning Teak but know that everyone here does appreciate everything you do (and you Lizzie and NurseGirl and Mitch and all the others). Enjoy your coffee and the start of your day Mr. Teak.
Thanks Lizzie
Cheers
i have gone through similar situation. a sex worker performing oral sex on me. i had fever, sore throat that lasted for 2 weeks, painful neck, water in the eyes, headeches that comes and goes away, i got tested after 5 weeks for hiv, hep b, and vdrl and all came as negative. got the sex worker to have hiv test for hiv 1 &2 they came back negative after six weeks. i feel better now no symptoms anymore but believe me i have never had a sore throat that have lasted for more than 2 weeks. oral sex is not too risky though but i feel have contracted a sickness from this sex worker. she was tested negative though but i will go for another test within the 3 months mark.
go for a test and be free from all these worries. not all pros have HIV 4 all u care she might not be having and u r even at a lower risk for HIV. all the odds r in ur favour
Update with one minor question which a Yes or No would be fine.
It has been 49 days since my no risk situation. 20-21 days since nPEP has been completed. Took a HIV 1 and 2 rapid test today. Came back Neg. Doc has also told me that I dont need to test further since the odds are all in my favor.
As far as my health goes. I feel fine besides for the joints in my knees which hurt everyday for the past week- (Comes and goes throughout the day).
Also, since yesterday or the day before that,. I started noticing a white blotchy (big) area on the inside of my check that feels ribbed, coarse.
Is The white blotch that I Semi described a symptom of ARS? (In General, Not just my case specificaly since I have had a no risk encounter per everyone I have talked to about it.) I just want to know. Or is the white blotch more for those that are going through the Advanced HIV stage.
Sorry if I have ticked anyone off. I dont want that. I dont plan on posting untill my 4th week test after nPEP which will be in seven days.. Thanks in advance.

You took PEP?! I can't believe any state's medical guidelines would warrant PEP in that situation. Your doctor put you at risk for a severe adverse drug reaction over a zero risk incident.
