ARS symptoms and duo test window period

Hi guys, I had unprotected oral sex and protected vaginal with CSW 8 weeks ago. One day after I got fever 37.2 and it lasted 4 or more weeks coming and going. 13 days after I got white coating on the tongue and I tested it on candida and it was negative. My lip corners are having white patches. On day 17 I've got mouth sores on cheeks, dark red... Even know 8 weeks after I'm getting aphthous ulcers from time to time...my lymph nodes under jaw are swollen. I tested with ag/ab test at 2 weeks and was negative. I got different information that Antigen might be detected as early as 2 weeks while others are saying one month. Can this be ARS? How reliable is 2 week duo test of 4th generation?

Guys, I'm still very anxious and can't get courage to test... Are recurring petechiae on inner cheeks ARS symptom? If fever show up can it be that mild like 37.2 and recurring just for few hours a day over the course of one month? Many thanks

It is very easy to become "irrational" and stressed out when our health is concerned.

You will feel great relief when you've tested.

I wish you the very best outcome

Thanks Ruby, that's encouraging to hear. Obviously I'm being quite irrational and I guess stress is taking it's toll on me. I'll go to test this week to end this state of mind finally

You had zero risk for HIV and your STD panel was clean for any other STD's.........any symptoms you are having should be examined by your doctor. There are a number of totally benign oral conditions that can cause these symptoms.

You would know for absolute sure if your condom had failed. When they fail, they fail catastrophically! There would be nothing left but the band around the base of your penis. Your condom DID NOT FAIL!

ARS symptoms can show up anywhere from 2-6 weeks post exposure, but many people have no symptoms at all. Most people with ARS will have symptoms at around 3 weeks. ARS symptoms show up all at once and last approximately a week. It has been described as the worst flu you can imagine. There are no known cases of ARS appearing after the 6 week window period.

I am betting your doctor will advise you to see your dentist.
I am also betting your anxiety is getting the better of you and I hope you are staying off the symptom sites!
Those places "create" more symptoms than any disease I know of!

Thanks, I did test on STDs, panel of viruses and everything is clear... Can't figure out the reason for symptoms... I keep reeling in my mind if condom was fine or not... I did check it and there was no obvious ruptures or tears... Never had such symptoms in life and it matches period of that event...that's why in spite of all rational thinking I keep freaking out and having no courage to test... I guess I'll have to do it... I was just wondering if those mouth sores and such a mild and recurrent fever and unidentified oral thrush and swollen submandibular nodes could be ARS even now 8 weeks after...

You had PROTECTED vaginal sex. NO RISK FOR HIV & NO NEED TO TEST

Oral sex is NOT a risk for HIV, but can be a risk for other STD's such as gonorrhea and syphilis, etc.
I recommend you have a full STD panel done.

There has never been a reported case of HIV transmission from oral sex and I doubt you will be the first. You do NOT have ARS because you do NOT have HIV!

Get the STD panel done and forget the HIV testing.
