Hey there, I read your past posts. According to the doctors on the expert forum here, a negative result at 8 weeks is DEFINITIVE proof that you were not infected with HIV
. They do not believe it necessary to go through to the full 3 months.
However, that being said- on this forum, 3 months is the only time you can obtain a conclusive result. Your 8 week negative is EXTREMELY unlikely to change at 3 months... but you still need to follow up at 3 months just so you can have that final, conclusive result.
HIV infection, if it happens, occurs within 2-4 weeks after initial infection and lasts around a week. If you are over 8 weeks post exposure, you are not experiencing acute HIV infection. Your leukocyte count does not matter- it will tell you nothing about HIV infection whatsoever.
Just remember- you tested negative at 8 weeks, and the doctors here believe that is plenty enough time to be considered definitively negative. Just follow up at 3 months for your conclusive result.
Remember to always use condoms in the future so you can spare yourself from having to go through all the torturous waiting and worrying!
Definitely i will for another test after 12/13 weeks.
But in the meantime I had tested my CBC which indicates increase in TLC. Count was 12,500
Reason for increase was Neutrophils.
lymphocyte was in normal range.
Which type of infection does it show "Bacterial" or "Viral"
