All ARS symptoms, tested negative 11 weeks

All ARS symptoms, tested negative 11 weeks

Hi,
My story started 11 and a half weeks ago.I was visiting a massage parol here in Romania. The girl( don't know her hiv status) start rubbing hard her vagine over my penis. There wasn't any kind of penetration, i sure about this, but the frottage was really hard.Next day, i felt somethink is wrong with my penis. After 3 days my penis become red and i had a burning feeling.I went to a dermatologist and he gave me metronidazol and doxycycline for 1 week. After that the burning was still there, i went another doctor who gave me cyprofloxacin for 1 week(1g each day). From now on, started my concerns regarding hiv. After 2 weeks from my exposure, i had feverish(low degrees) for 4-5 weeks. After 1 more week i had high fever and very bad diarrhea with blood in stool, about 3 days. After 1 week more, all other symptoms have shown: white tongue and aftoasa stomatitis, burning legs and hands, fatigue, constipation/diarrhea, rumbling stomach, feverish senzation, some sort of inflamation (inflammation) in all body, i lost some kg, night sweats, sore throat and, bad taste in my mouth.

Tests:

HIV 1/2 Antibody - 3 weeks - negative
HIV 1/2 Antibody - 5 weeks - negative
HIV 1/2 Antibody/Antigen - 8 weeks - negative
PCR RNA HIV 1 - 7 and a half weeks - not detected(detection limit 20 copies/ml)
HIV 1/2 Antibody - 11 weeks - negative

Questions:

1.Are my symptoms due to ARS?
2.For 2007 till now i had a lot of neurological symptoms.First my doc believed that could be multiple sclerosis.I had a lot of RMN and my brain was ok.My neurological symptoms: fatigue, back pain, numb hands and legs, memory issue, walk unsteadily. He also recomand to have some test for autoimmune disorders, but i didn't have any further tests.Do you think, if i have an autoimmune disorders this will delay the HIV seroconversion? When should i stop testing?
3.What do you think about my test?
4.The infectionists docs here in Romania say that PCR RNA test it s conclusive, but i know that your opinion is different. Why?

Thanks doc.

Welcome to the Forum.  The encounter you descirbe does not include any activities associated with risk for HIV.  This fact is confirmed by your multiple negative tests at time when the results are completely reliable.  You id not get HIV from this encounter an have no reason for concern.

1.  Your symptoms are not due to ARS related to this encounter.

2.  No, there is no reason to worry that autoimmune disorders would delay seroconversion.

3.  Your tests prove that you do not have HIV.

4.  The HIV PCR has not been studied for this purpose. Therefore there are not studies to let us determine the time course and reliablity of the PCR test.  Further, PCR tests have far higher false positive rates than antibody tests.  You combination of test results however prove that you do not have HIV from the encounter you described.  EWH

Dear Doctor,

Thank you very much for your answer. Please 2 more questions:

1.Don't you think that my symptoms are very similar to ARS?
2.Did you ever see an infected person who have undetectable viral load without meds (first 2 mounths from exposure like me).I know that PCR RNA test have false pozitive results, but false negative?

Thanks doc

1. No, your symptoms are not suggestive of ARS.  Further, when symptoms are present and the lab tests disagree, the lab tests are always correct.

2.  As I said, believe the combination of tests- you do not have HIV.

CMV as a cause of diarrhea is a disease of persons with major immunosuppressive illnesses, incluing HIV.  YOU DO NOT HAVE HIV-YOUR TESTS SHOW THIS.

If you have intermittent blooy diarrhea, you should have it evaluated but you have no reason to worry further about HIV.  See your doctor to evaluate your diarrhea- there are many, many non-HIV causes.

This will end this threa. There will be no further answers.  EWH

Dear doc,

I promise this will be my last questions.A quick update: took another 2 HIV test, bouth Ag/Ab tests. My last test after 15 weeks from exposure was Vironostika HIV Uni-Form II Ag/Ab, the results was 0.35 negative, but the other was 0.13 negativ.I don't know where from are this big difference in values? What do you think about Vironostika test?Is a good one?I wouldn't be worry but my symptoms are still here.I tested positive for lyme on ELISA but WB come back negative.I have heart that a false positive on borrelia means that in fact it could be HIV.It's true?Do I need any further tests?

Thank you very much doc, with your answer you will help a terrified guy

Einstein said that to do the same thing again and again and expect different results is insanity.  Since you won't take my advice and believe your test results, perhaps you will take Einstein's.  You do not have HIV.  continuued testing related to the events you describe make no sense.

There will be no further answers and continueed questions will be deleted without comment. EWH
