I am 30 YO guy. Worried that I may have got infected.
I met this friend of mine on 5th of Dec 2010 which was just a causual meeting after 5 years. After having drinks she started touching me and I got aroused and we end up mating.
While in act, she pulled out a Condom
You have unprotected sex so you are at risk. Take test at 3 months.
In the mean time you try to find your friends and try to convice her to go for HIV test. Her status would give you lot of ease about your expected status...be calm and take action...
here are the series of incidents happened with me:
1) Since December 23 I am having Stomach Ache in my upper Stomach reagion (Needle Pain) but Constipation.
Earlier I thot it was Gastric Problem.
2) Since Morning today, I have been Ok after having shower, but suddenly in afternoon I had Watery feeling in my stomach and i had to go to Washroom and ended up having Dirrhea and after coming out i started feeling dizzy with Eye Aches. Then i went to see Doctor.
3) Doctor followed normal procedure of Check Blood Pressure and then when he checked my fever it came out to be 99.
4) I am feeling nauseatic at the same time.
5) having Backache.
This period is past 2 weeks and going to be 3rd week.
Am I sero Converting?
I know Hope's reply has given me lot of courage. But:
Its been 3 weeks post exposure but now a days i feel like attending washroom right after lunch..which is unusual to me and after that i start having stabbing pain in my stomach (upper stomach) but in morning i am generally ok to pass stools which are normal but they are with little discomfort in my abdomen. Also my Body OUTSIDE parts like... Forehaed, wrists all get warm enough to make you feel lik eyou are having fever but ...when i check it with thermometer, its normal.
What kind of symptoms I am getting? can it be ARS as its is between the 2-4 weeks of benchmark. or is it something else.?
Any expert reply would be appreciated!! as I am freaking out....
hey i know it COULD be out of anxiety but...why pain in Stomach and Heachace with ELEVATED OUTER TEMP of BODY(No FEVER) having Thermometer in hand and checking every hour..it is fluctuating..some times cold and somes times i feel my head is so burning... also speciacially in 3rd week POST incident??
I am feeling ok after 5 days of sickness POST 2 weeks EXPOSURE along with:
Diarrhea (for last 2 days)
Joint pain yesterday
Headache (last night)
Gastric again (Today)
Was it Sero Conversion Time??
How do you expect anything when they haven't seen you in person. Why not go see a doctor for your now symptoms. Then at 4-6 weeks take a hiv test. But do remember, you will need a follow up test at 12 to 13 weeks to confirm your initial test result. You're almost there and I can relate to your anxiety / shame / guilt as I have been there and feel the same way. Best wishes and stay well.
Mate I am asking about Symtoms (symptoms).. which happened 2-4 Weeks Post Exposure. and I lfelt them nearly for a week, since the onset of 3rd week and end of 3rd week. And they went away without any explainable reason. The Symtomps Included:
Feverish Feeling (But NO FEVER)
Dizziness along with HOT and Cold Flushes (Throught the 3rd Week)
Abodiminal Spasm (Continued from Later half of 3rd Week till the end of 3rd week)
Diarrhea (for last 2 days of the 3rd Week)
Chills (For the last 2 days of 3rd Week)
Joint pain (Last Day of the 3rd Week)
from your name i assume you are in inida.
Symptoms are not the true indicators and they dont come in turns.
now i suggest you wait for 4 weeks then take a DUO test.
or take a early detection profile tests from listermetropolis lab(google it)
they charge rs 3000/ for it and will be accurate after 14 days of exposure
it includes the following tests as a group.
1)HIV DUO test
2)p24 by ELFA
3)HIV proviral DNA - realtime
4)HIV RNA qualitative (COBAS TAQMAN) with a sensitivity of 20 copies/ml.
all these done after 14 days should be highly accurate and is considered conclusive by the aids specialist i talked to who is also on a panel of doctors on WHO's panel against aids.
take a elisa test 6 weeks post exposure...and repeat it at 3 months mark...in india we are using 3rd generation elisa kits ...which are highly accurate at 3 months mark...forget abt ur symptoms ..anxiety is the key factor...

isnt it Diarrhea is one of the symptom of HIV?
Wouldnt it be possible to suffer from Diziiness since the start of the week and then down the end of week ...Immune System is fighting with the Virus ..probably thats why got Diarrhea at the end of week for Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, I felt fine without any Explanable reasoning.
When a person gets sick with cold, flu etc. it tends to go away after it runs its course.
As told above testing is the only answer to your questions.
Most people who test NEG. have symptoms and most people who test POS have none. this is why symptoms mean nothing when it comes to knowing your status.
Test 3 month post exposure and stop guessing based on symptoms
Oh My God I developed a rash on my chest. Caus when i woke up in morning it was Itchy on my chest then i straight away went to Bathroom and checked in mirror it looked like a Rash right in the middle of chest but a bit towards left. I shaved the area and i could see there was a RASH. now i am freaking out...
I am Scared to death
many people developed rashes, swollen glands, suffered with fever, stomach pains etcc...during the window period but eventually their test results are negative...listen to me carefully stop talking abt your symptoms..get a blood test done 6 weeks post exposure and repeat it at 3 months mark..as i told in india we are using 3rd generation elisa kits which are highly advanced...
HIV is not that easy to get. It will not venture out like a cold virus. HIV must inject its RNA into the human cell and just cannot live on the side like other viruses. You must consistently and thoroughly help it attach itself to a human cell. Remember it is not a human disease in the first place. It is only about 50yr old and still evolving to be a human virus and it will take atleast a few thousand years before it can look out for a human host.
HIV Symptoms: Usually noticed between 2 to 3 weeks of possible exposure. Flu, Fever, Sore Throats, Lymph Node Swells, Skin Rashes(Mostly on the torso), Night Sweats, Fatigue & Tiredness. Only about 80-90% of people notice some of these symptoms. 95% of people who feel the above symptoms without being tested does not have HIV. The reason for such symptoms are the bodily reactions controlled by stressed out minds as HIV is a deadly disease. Mind has the ability to simulate the symptoms in the body if your stress is so much that you think you might die soon.
Hope this helps u...be patient and get tested ok..i hope u ll be alright.
My symptoms evolved around that time only which was 2-3 Weeks.
I had following symptoms:
Feverish Feeling (But NO FEVER)
Dizziness along with HOT and Cold Flushes (Throught the 3rd Week)
Abodiminal Spasm (Continued from Later half of 3rd Week till the end of 3rd week)
Diarrhea (Unconsistent for last 2 days of the 3rd Week but only at Lunch Times)
Chills (For the last 2 days of 3rd Week)
Joint pain (Last Day of the 3rd Week)
NO Lymph Nodes and NO Sore Throat.
Are the symptoms come all at once??
if they do, then has fever to be present and how much?
caus i think I had Fever like symptoms in the Later Half of the third week (for roughly 3-4 days)
Hey there regards to the new year just some piece of advice seroconversion average is 22 days so pliz get tested at 28days 42days and finally 84days or 90 days and all will be fine. Some food for thought how do you think we came to know about this forum its coz at 1 tyme of our lives we all get the scare anyway will pray for you best regards.

Hi Teak,
I am just trying to get an trunnion to my Symptoms Assessment and trying to educate myself. I don't think i am doing anything wrong though i know the rules and regulations of the forum and i respect them.
If you knew the rules then you would not keep posting the same thing over and over and over again and you would listen to what you were told about testing.
We don't discuss symptoms, they are general and not specific to HIV. Symptom looking has no benefit to anyone.
Test at 3 months post exposure, other then that this forum can really be no more help to you, and you do risk of getting banned.
I know but my anxiety gets me back on the post and my mind is asking me too many questions every day..thats all!!
Diarrhea (Unconsistent for last 2 days of the 3rd Week but only at Lunch Times)
with Abdominal Stabbing pain...
is it something usual in ARS? or ARS Diarrhea is longer in span..and multiple times in day?
Does any one know how long the Diarrhea last if a person is having ARS?
I know it can be mild to severe.. but if it is mild? then how mild it will be?
whether it will be 3 or more bouts of diarrhea a day and for more than 2 days or it can be 2 days and once a day?

It could be cause of anxiety...but at the start of 3rd week post exposure...
why i had Feverish Feeling (But NO FEVER)??
I also felt Dizzi along with HOT and Cold Flushes (Throught the 3rd Week)..
and at the end of 3rd week on Saturday evening ifelt some Watery feeling in my stomach and then when i attended washroom i had slight diarrhea. Straight away after that i had fainting feeling for 10 mins and then by the night i felt alright..
following day on Sunday i had Diarrhea at lunch time again and after that i felt nauseatic..and on monday (in start of 4th week) all the symptoms without any explanation.
Was that sero conversion week??
It could be cause of anxiety...but at the start of 3rd week post exposure...
1) I had Feverish Feeling (But NO FEVER)?? was checking with Thermometer 98.5-99.3
2) I also felt Dizzi along with HOT and Cold Flushes (Throught the 3rd Week)..

I am too from India.I am not highjacking ones Thread. But one thing i would ike you to ask that i took 1 test at 3rd week from ESLIA Antibody test then at 5th,7th 9th,11th and finally yesterday at 84th day thats exactly at the completion of 12 weeks.I too suffering from some symptoms like on and off loose stools,on and off muscle aching, dizziness and neck pain.I too lost a little weight as well.
I just wanted to know if here in India are using 3rd Generation test which looks for Antibodies only. But the pathelogy from where i took the test the lab repot says:ECLIA (p24+HIV 1/2 Antibody) Ag/Ab Test -NON RECATIVE.Is this One is 3rd or 4th Generation Test??.Though the pathelogy is a very famous pathelogy here its called RML Lab and its almost more than 50 years old.
Though i got confirmation from Teak yesterday about my conclusiveness. Also is 3rd Generation test are more reliable than 4th Generation test? Are they just bluffing by writing p24 Antigen where as doing test at 3rd Generation ELISA kit??Pl answer..
Thanks Teak for the patient hearing and answering plenty of questions. To finish off when i just enquired about the test results the Pathelogy MD told me that most persons will show signs in 1-2 months max and so far your tests hold good but if you are experiencing any kinda symptoms you described then retesting at end of 4th,5th and finally at 6 months time.Does with the kind of tests i took is it really required in today's time that a person can seroconvert so late??What is the probability of those persons and what kind of persons they are?? As far as i know i never had chemo,no organ transplant, never took ART drugs but i do have diabitics which was detected lately.Kindly answer.Thats the reason i was partially happy when i too the reports from the pathelogy and immediately i mailed you.KINDLY DO ANSWER.My worries are in conjunction to the dizziness and shoulder pain which is still there since encounter.
DO again testing are required even after 3 months time now a days.If yes then paranoia will be continued for ever and the testing will never ever comes to end..Be it 4th month then six months then at 1 year so and so forth...PLEASE I REALLY NEED YOUR SINCERE ADVICE IN THIS
REGARD!!!

Current methods for the detection of HIV may not detect all infected individuals. An ARCHITECT HIV Ag/Ab Combo test result that is nonreactive does not exclude the possibility of exposure to or infection with HIV-1 and/or HIV-2. Nonreactive results in this assay for individuals with prior exposure to HIV-1 and/or HIV-2 may be due to antigen and antibody levels below the limit of detection of this assay.
UK testing guidelines.
Post-test discussion
The need for a repeat HIV test if still within the window period after a specific exposure should be discussed. Although fourth generation tests shorten the time from exposure to seroconversion a repeat test at three months is still recommended to definitively exclude HIV infection.
All testing follows the same basic steps:
The window period lasts 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results.

Therefore, any patient testing negative who has had known or suspected exposure to HIV within 3
months should be instructed to retest 3 months after the
exposure date [30]

Thanks for the abundance of info. But in words lastly i just want to know does diabitics medicines or the pain relieving medicines which i am taking rt now effect seroconvrsion?Do they play any role in the results? Can i now be safely move along and intimate with my wife?I know i am troubling you but for the sake of my family kindly answer once.
The only medicine that may extend the seroconversion period is chemo, antirejection drugs for organ transplants, nPEP medications and chronic IV drug users.
Thanks teak once again.I would like to clarify that is there a difference between testing at 12 weeks rather than 13 weeks. Some say that 12 weeks for completion of 3 months while for some 12 weeks stands good.Does this really makes difference?Pl answer!!!!
I am back again with my fears and i apologize to bother you again!
But I am more worried of the symptoms I am getting now a days... I got Sweats on forehead and neck night before but yesterday i didn't get any but I got the same this morning. what is this?????
Checked my Temperature..it was 96.9 with digital thermometer and 97.4 with mercury thermometer.
Dont know whats wrong and also contant itching on my genitals.
Even if they hadn't been ARS symptoms, the anxiety can always be calmed down by testing that too at 3 months and beyond (since you had significant unprotected exposure)for conclusiveness!!!
Hi,
I am back with my other fears in the morning yesterday i noticed some red pimples on my shoulder and one or 2 in front of right shoulder.
the one which was on top was filled with Blood when i popped it last night and in morning it looked fine and dried up but the other ones look like Mosquito Bites (one in front and one on the back of shoulder)
My dizziness had come back again yesterday with the same feverish feeling but when i took my temperature it was showing me 97.4. its happening every alternate day!!

Are tey by any chance related to ARS...its been past 6 weeks.
I have read them and i am here to ask if they are related to ARS at all???
got muscle aches by evening too .. Upper Back pain started at around dawn of evening and then Achy eyes with shoulder aches.. are they sounding like ARS?
