Am i going to have HIV?

Im a call center agent. Im getting paranoid and Google made it even more worse when I searched for the signs and symptoms of HIV. Im a nurse also as well. But this was the stupidest idea I have to regret my whole life. I was drunk and had unprotected sex with a prostitute. Weeks went by, there were no signs showing. As time goes by I had rash, minimal only and it starts to go away by itself. Then I started to develop sore throat and was getting nauseous and vomitting at my working area. I have also dry legs and dry mouth which contributed to my anxiety. And also I have developed a mouth sore on my outer lip and also inside in my right mucosa is a white line but it is painless, when I try to gargle with salt water my tongue buds seem to be yellow. And also it takes a long time for it to heal. One thing I did not experience is I have no fever.  My anxiety keeps getting worse day by day. I had irregular sleeping pattern. I often woke up in the middle of the night. Sometimes I sleep a lot, tend to sleep early and skipped meals. I smoked a lot because Im thinking about if ever I have HIV, my future is ruine. Today is the 3rd week, and still experiencing sore throat. Can anyone please help me? I know I should be screening for HIV. This is one big hella scare of my life.

Yeah. I've actually got my results for rapid HIV test and it was negative. But I have developed "irritable bowel syndrome/stress ulcer" from anxiety and some rash that itches but goes away by itself and a little sore throat. But overall Im feeling okay and alive. I would screen again for the next 3 months, cause its the only resort and the only available HIV screening here. Sucks big time but I have faith and confidence in my results that it wont change

ELISA is not going to give you a conclusive result at that time frame.

I just took my ELISA test earlier, and it will prolong my agony because it will take 2 weeks for it to reveal. Tsk! Maybe what Im feeling right now is psychological, the doctor checked up on my throat and there's no sign of swelling or any lymphodenopathy. Maybe Im just overthinking thats why Im stressed and fatigue all the time.

You will have to wait for 28 days for a DUO test or 6 weeks for a normal antibody test. When you say ELISA, need to know if its antibody only or both antigen+antobody

The scientific evidence shows that p24 combo tests are conclusive at 28 days post exposure. That said many regions, centres and hospitals may have different recommendations. This is most commonly because they base their recommendations on older studies (based on antibody alone testing) and do not reflect current scientific information. Your test results are valid

The combo test will detect the p24 (protein) before the antibodies presence or will detect the antibodies.

Today is the 23rd day, which means I still have 5 days. Thanks for the encouragement though. If i have tested for the 28th day, is that the exact date that HIV has produced antibodies? Can you give me a heads up so I wouldnt stop worrying. Thanks

Hi, your activity comes under the risk factors for HIV. Symptoms do not define presence of the infection but a test does it. Get yourself tested after 28 days of exposure with 4th generation duo test. Worrying will only make situations worst. Relax just another few days for you to test and I am sure you would be fine.
