Antibody tests and low CD4 count

Antibody tests and low CD4 count

If someone unknowingly was living with HIV for years and two recent antibody tests came back negative, could that mean that there aren't enough antibodies to be detected anymore, or is he truely negative?  I have tested negative with the Home Access HIV test and the Oraquick Advance test this week, but I am just curious if there aren't enough antibodies left to be detected by those tests?  Or will such tests detect antibodies far into low CD4 counts?

Thank you Teak.  I am sorry to hear about your HIV.  I am so glad you are here taking the time to educate others on the subject.  Your input is greatly appreciated.
