Blood drawn

Hi everyone!! Sorry for the freak out.

However I just had my blood drawn for my annual exam. I'm terrified of needles, therefore, I asked for a butterfly needle. The lady said there weren't any left and I was like oh ok. She then saw me freak out a bit and was like "oh they will kill me if they see me" and then pulled a green butterfly needle from her purse. At first I was like oh she was prob trying to steal it and she is just gonna give it to me. But now after I'm freaking out. What if it was previously used or not sterile?

It didn't have plastic wrapping (that I saw) but to get the needle out she had to push down the green wings.I asked her if it was previously used and she said no. She then disposed of it.

Am I at risk here??

If it was previously used and not sterile, you risk various bacterial infections, but not HIV.  Blood draws take blood OUT of you - they don't put blood into you.  Absolutely no risk for HIV.  I am also doubtful that a qualified medical professional would risk her livelihood by re-using a needle.
