Blood exposure

Hi,

This is horrible for my mind since a year ago I started to very phobic about HIV for some reasons and everything reminds me of it. Every little possibility bothers me and now this happened:

I got menstrual blood to my penis and fingers. I didn't think too clearly and took condom off to wash my penis and hands soon after noticing.

I have seen this girl a little time and sure I need to ask about her status but still. How big of a risk this is?

Any appropriate answers are highly appreciated!

Thankfully, HIV is actually quite hard to pass on, you really are safe to move on:)

Still coming back to this even if I've been fighting off well against my anxiety.
Yes, even official guides or people that I asked about this said there's no need for testing.

I just thought maybe it's risky because I took the condom off so fast and might have swept fresh blood a bit to my penise's mucous membrane.

Well. I try to shake this off again.

I really appreciate your kindness in helping me or anybody!

Thank you for your kind and fast reply James!

Feels a bit terrifying and unreal that this happened to me since i've been avoiding any risk situations after becomig scared about the issue. And now when I tried to protect myself and still step forward with my fear...

But what's happened has happened. So probably it's still a good idea to test at some point.

Hi there.

What you need to do is to get one HIV test, what you have described above is extremely low risk and happens quite commonly.

The girl in questions most probably was HIV Negative and even if she wasn't, it's a tough virus to catch.

I know tests are no fun but this is all you need to do to put your mind at rest - I am certain it will be negative! :)

Book in for a test and when you get your negative result you can move on with your life :)

Do come back and talk again if you need to.

All the best.
