Blood transmission

Do I need to test as yesterday as concerned with the following.

1) I shook hands with a guy who had fresh cuts and considerable blood on his hand. I had a small cut on my hand where he put pressure.

2) Without thinking I rubbed my eye just a few seconds later with the same hand and then finger to get an eyelash out.

No you didn't have a risk.

Thanks for that and also for a quick reply as it would not have been nice waiting- I was more worried about the finger in my eye and rubbing my eye with my hand really although I do have a cut on my hand which he touched and applied pressure to as I said above.

I am very pleased I don't have to worry or to test and may come back to this forum another time. I see you all do great work and you also have other many other topics on Med help.

for educational purposes, why didnt he have a risk when he rubbed his eyes? blood on mucus membrane only exposed to air for a few seconds. an explanation would be much appreciated?
