Breastmilk exposure

Breastmilk exposure

I know this is a weird situation but several months ago I visited a sex worker who was lactating. She said she gave birth to a baby girl several months ago. I know she is quite clean and always uses condoms for intercourse.

I sucked on her breast and swallowed a little bit of breast milk. Now when I say little bit, i mean a mouthful....maybe 3-4 table spoons worth. I have been worried ever since since I know breast milk can transmit HIV. What do you think my risk is and do you recommend being tested.

On a side note, I have had night sweats for 2-3 nights a couple of weeks ago and had swollen glands in the throat at the same time. My exposure was almost 4 months ago.

Thanks
Worried Dude

Following is reproduced from CDC's website. One time exposure, as you had, should not carry a significant risk, probably due to amount of HIV per ml of breast milk, which is the lowest compared with blood, semen and vaginal fluids (in descending order)

"Transmission of HIV from single breast milk exposure has never been documented"
