Bronchitis, Fever and Swollen Glands

6 weeks ago I received an unprotected BJ from a man of unknown status. Two days later I had a red rash under my foreskin which disappeared after a day.  Exactly 2 weeks later, I started getting really bad muscle pains which were followed by a fever and an extremely sore throat.  This was accompanied by a very bad cough. I also had a really bad pain under my left arm.  I felt terribly ill and went to the doctor who diagnosed bronchitis, he said that I also had a nasty ulcer on my throat.  As I am in the Southern hemisphere and it is summer, he said this was really odd as he hadn't seen any other patients with these symptoms this time of year.  He prescribed anitbiotics but 4 weeks later I am still sick.  In addition to the bronchitis I seem to have picked up a head cold also.  I now have really sore glands under my arms and in my groin.

I know that there is next to no chance of HIV infection through oral sex but I am going out of my mind.  Do you ever see bronchitis in patients with primary HIV infection or is more like that this was an unusual case of flu or something else.  I am too terrified to go for an HIV test which I know is pathetic. Are uncircumcised men more at risk of HIV from oral sex, or is there really no risk.  I am so scared I might have infected my wife too, but she seems to have been fine except for a sore throat.

Next to none? It's none. You'd better consult a doctor for those symptoms because they have nothing to do with HIV. And because you had no risk you don't need to get tested for HIV.
