CDC website???

On the CDC website it says:

The following may be warning signs of advanced HIV infection:

    * rapid weight loss
    * dry cough
    * recurring fever or profuse night sweats
    * profound and unexplained fatigue
    * swollen lymph glands in the armpits, groin, or neck
    * diarrhea that lasts for more than a week
    * white spots or unusual blemishes on the tongue, in the mouth, or in the throat
    * pneumonia
    * red, brown, pink, or purplish blotches on or under the skin or inside the mouth, nose, or eyelids
    * memory loss, depression, and other neurological disorders

Could anyone tell me how long after exposure would be considered "advanced HIV"?

If your exposure was in August, you do not have AIDS, period.  Your four week negative is really encouraging.  Post your next negative test result so we can all congratulate you.

thx
i was only exposed in August and i've had a few of these symptoms and people seem to list these symptoms as the ARS symptoms....but all of the symptoms were separate from each other and they didn't start until about 6 weeks after the exposure...i know, i know, symptoms don't mean anything.  my 4 week blood test was negative, i do my 12 week blood test tomorrow and then get to wait 2 weeks for those results.  it will be a long 2 weeks...

Advanced HIV is the same meaning as AIDS. Persons that take HAART may never get advanced HIV/AIDS. There is no definitive time line for someone to progress to that level. Every person is different, and their bodies react differently to HIV.
