Can hiv+ tears be infective?

Hi, everyone,
I have read some articles and posts and know that tears cannot transmit hiv.
But today I saw a news, which argued that tears can also be infective.
It is a research been made by Tumour Hospital of China XieHe Medical Institude recently. They said that they have tested the tears of 16 Adis patients.
All of the patients have a 6-year azt care and their blood tested hiv- during the research.
It shows that the amounts of copies in the tested tears range from 200-20000/ml.
So they draw the conclusion that hiv can also be tramsmitted by tears.

Frankly I am very doubtful to this conclusion. What you think, guys?

Thats rubbish.Tears do NOT transmit hiv and i would forget you ever heard such a suggestion.Transmission can only occur from infected--BLOOD---SEMEN---- VAGINAL FLUIDS and BREAST MILK and thats it. Tears, urine and saliva are not infectious.

Yes there was a research study done where people that were HIV positive with undetectable viral loads did show positive results in their tears, BUT tears do not contain enough virus to infect.

There is alot of false information on the internet which is quite sad when you think about it and its sad because this is where all the hiv related anxiety comes from in the first place. As human being we what or expect reliable information so we can put events behind us but as far as hiv information is concern its so inconsistent that this is where confusion comes about.Whats the point of saying at 3 months 99% of people will have detectable antibodies when everyone is going to think there the 1 % that haven,t produced antibodies yet,it doesn,t help anyone.I guess all we can do is stick to the facts and take it from there.Stay off unreliable websites and only read the sites that provide hiv facts.Thats my best advice to you.

NOT INFECTIOUS?
Oh,
what I want to express now is not only the thanks to you all but also the disappointment to my own country's So Called Doctors&Experts.
They often argue that exudate have quite an amount of hiv virus and is very infective.
They also argue that tears may transmit hiv today, as you seen above.
I REALLY can't understand, why Doctros and Experts in USA engage themselves in finding medcine to cure, and in educating everyone the exact way to transmit hiv, so as to make people clam down and protect themselves from the infection, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, experts in my country is doing SUCH USELESS RESEARCHES only to bring more fright to people. So humourous isn't it? I don't know what they just mean for, or is making everyone scare to death a funny thing?
Yeah your right, THATS  RUBBISH.

Exudate from my understanding is a form of puss from a wound and is not infectious.

Thx so much for your quick answer, getitright77 .
I just have another quetion bothering me, is sore or cut exudate infecive? I think the answer is probably yes, but I couldn't find any data shows the exact amount of hiv virus or copies in exudate. Is it near to blood?
Could you please show me some information? Thanks again.

And now I feel a little worried about it because it's a latest research made by China XieHe Hospital Medical Institude.
Can this be true? I just can't make myself believe that.
