Can some please help

by Ocard, Feb 28, 2015
I was in a store today and I purchased an item that was enclosed in one of those hard to open plastic boxes. My hands were dry and when I went to pull it open the plastic gave me something of a paper cut on my finger and it bled a tiny bit. Is there any risk of infection if there was blood on the box where it cut me? If no risk why

Second question that same night I was out at a bar with my friends and got a little buzzed but still fully functional. When I got up to go to the bathroom I came back and sat down with my buddies back at the bar and they started joking saying I better be careful somebody might try and stab me with an HIV tainted syringe. I've never had any anxiety before about this but just curious would I feel a stab or poke from a syringe and would it leave a mark I know this may sound silly but now they put all the stuff of my head... Thx

Not answering anxiety driven irrational questions, about something that did not happen.

Maybe on my shoulder as I remember a guy putting his hand on my shoulder. Would I feel a needle prick?

Hi, the only safety measure to prevent HIV is using a condom for penetrative sex. HIV is transmitted via condomless anal/vaginal, instant sharing of used needles and mother to baby via breast feeding (certain cases). None other than these exposures can cause HIV. HIV virus is a fragile virus, it doesn't transmit easily. Your paper cut exposure is not a risk as the virus dies once its exposed to external environmental conditions. Secondly, your friends are taking your case about needle pricking because you must have projected them your extra precautionary measures for HIV.
