Can you please address my concern due to my stripper exposure?

Hi Dr.,

I tried finding this specific situation but didn't have much luck...

I recently got a nude lap dance from a stripper, and during that time I rubbed the outside of her vagina with my fingers (I didn't insert my finger(s)) and then I rubbed her breasts with those same fingers. She also rubbed her own vagina and rubbed her breasts as well. I then briefly kissed/licked/sucked her breasts. My concern is that I may have gotten some of her vaginal secretion into my mouth as a result of all this.

Is any of this a cause for concern?

Should I get tested for hiv/stds in general?

I'd like to be certain and be worry-free before I continue to have unprotected sex with my girlfriend.

The activities you describe have no risk for HIV or for other STDs.  HIV is transmitted by penetrative genital or ano-genital sex or by injection of infectious material deep into tissue. HIV has not been proven to be transmitted by oral sex, thus even if you happened to get some of her genital secretions into your mouth, still no risk for HIV at all. Medically, the activities you describe do not even require testing.  EWH

Thank you Dr. Hook! I'm glad to know that I haven't put myself at risk nor will I be putting my girlfriend at risk over my silly incident.

And just for my edification - not questioning you, Dr. - HIV really hasn't been proven to be transmitted by oral sex? I've read before that it's possible to transmit that way, esp. when one is the receiver. Is transmission by oral sex just very rare, or was I misinformed?

As I said, despite all of the noise on the internet and some of the waffling statements made by the CDC , there are no scientifically proven cases in which HIV was transmitted or acquired through oral sex.  That doesn't mean that it's never happened but it means that IF it has happened, it is so rare that the rate of infection cannot be calculated.  Similarly, there is no evidence that anyone (since the dinosaurs) has ever been struck and killed by a meteorite- it may have happened but it too rare an event for reasonable concern.  EWH
