Can't Sleep

I'm addicted to this site.  I figured I would post a question to see if anyone wanted to comment.

There has been some talk below about the DNA PCR test being approved by the CDC.  I was just wondering if anyone had any info on this.  Or if anyone had any particular views on the DNA PCR test that they would like to share.

I personally have a 7 week DNA PCR negative.  And a 10 week antibody negative.  So, I'm feeling comfortable.  But, like many of you out there, I'm still waiting for that 13th week.

And by the way, even though everybody in the world basically goes by the 3 month window.  Why does the CDC still stick with a 3 to 6 month window?  What is that all about?

Anyway, just wanted to rant.

Best,

Ryan

According to the doc here, 6 weeks is more than enough even with rapid test.

Well, one of my questions hasn't been answered a hundred times.  That is the question about the PCR DNA test.  You posted a link to hivtest.org, which is a service of the CDC, and stated that the test had thereby been approved by the CDC.  This seems like a new development that changes what we know about the test.

I still want to know more about this.  When was it approved?  Did they approve it for diagnostic purposes?  Can I rely on my 7 week result?

In September 06, I had sex with 2 girls (unprotected)..In mid-December, I had a PCR/DNA test done, which was negative....I had ZERO encounters between the Sept./Dec. test....

Then in late December, I had another unprotected vaginal encounter...Took an ELISA test about 10 days ago, results not back....Is it common for ELISA tests to take 10 days, or more?....Last couple years, mostly have had PCR/DNA testing done, with the results next day...

How risky is unprotected vaginal sex compared to anal?...I've never done anal, & have no desire to do it either...

Thank you..
