Can't deal with this, I'm so afraid that I have hiv... please help

Well the title says it all... I had a sexual encounter about 3 months ago (anal, vaginal, and oral) I remember putting a condom on but I'm not posotive if I kept it on because I was drinking heavily... (stupid I know, I regret it) she was alot older then I am, I met her at a bar and found out later that she always has alot of sex  partners who she don't know, this really scares me, the chances of her having hiv is very high, but anyways I didn't have a whole lot of symptoms after my encounter, I did have some, the thing that scares me is I got a very sore red tongue about 4 weeks after this, this isn't normal for me, then later I started to develop this white patches on the side of my tongue that cannott be scraped off, I Googled it and it turns out to be oral hairy leukoplakia. .. I'm so scared guys:( this is only seen in people who are hiv posotive... I had a hiv blood test done at 5 weeks that came back negative,  but from my understanding I tested inside the window period so it's a false negative, I'm waiting for my 3 month test to come back now but it's ruining my life, I'm in college and I can't concentrate on anything but HIV. .. it's ruining my life and my grades, I really believe I'm infected and I'm so scared and distraught:(

Jake,
Wantonjoe is right, Oral Hairy Leukoplakia occurs in late stage infections, certainly not in the early stages, nor is it an ARS symptom in any way.
This is true of any condition involving the tongue.

I doubt whether you have OHL in any case, it's more likely to be an overgrowth of yeast on the tongue, go and see another doctor if it bothers you, if the current doctor isn't sympathetic or helpful go to another one, you are paying for it.
Many posters on here, myself included have had tongue issues, most likely due to stress and have gone on to test negative so don't let it freak you out.

Try to stay calm, you're looking at the absolute worst case scenario for all factors and this is very rarely the case in life.
The chances are very high that you were wearing a condom. You remember putting one on and even though you were drunk it's unlikely it came off.

Also HIV is rare in Canada so chances are much more likely than not she didn't even have it.
Also the chances of catching HIV from a once off encounter of penis-vaginal sex where you are the insertive partner are very low.
You also have a negative result at 5 weeks which is very encouraging and should be very accurate by now and depending on which kind was used could even be conclusive.

So stop stressing, the odds are really very much in your favour.
I know it's tough waiting for test results but take this as a learning experience like so many of us on here so that we don't have to find ourselves in these kind of situations again.

Thank you for your kind words... I'm living out of my hometown, I moved to the city attending college, I don't have a family doctor in here because my classes are to late and the clinic would be closed, therefore I'm forced to go to the walk in clinic,  I see different doctors every time I go there, most of them are from out of the country, I find most of them really rude, it's like they don't even care about how I'm feeling, I told the doctor about my tongue and he didn't even look at it he just said "that could be from anything" one doctor told me to shut up while I was trying to explain to him and completely cut me off, I just been having a horrific experience with doctor in this city, it's really taking a toll on my anxiety

Phone up your clinic and ask what test you had.

What I can't understand is that when you went for test and told them your story, why didn't your health councillor explain to you the window period and what test you are were having? Isn't that part of their job?

I wish you all the best.

Good news is that if you had a 4th generation test, your results are conclusive.  If it was just a standard antibody test, a negative result at 5 weeks is a good sign, but must be followed up with a confirmation test at 3 months

I'm not 100% sure what generation test is used, I live in Canada so we are a fairly wealthy country, I'm guessing it's a 4th generation?

Bro I was told by an experienced nurse in a specialist hiv clinic (where they treat thousands of hiv patients) that oral hairy leukoplakia only occurs in late stage hiv and/or AIDS....NOT in acute hiv infection

What generation test did you use? 3rd or 4th?
