I refuse to believe D.A.R.E. and such statistics. But you've been in the field a bunch, I'm sure, and have probably run across something like this, I take it...
. This coupled with his stance that "six months is way too soon" led me here.
BTW, I'd also like to thank Teak, Mike and others for their perspectives. This has been a long and difficult time for me and I think it has made me a more cautious person and aware and compassionate about HIV
Wow, that's harrible (in the NJ mother accent). Seriously. That puts any of our doings to complete shame. Surprised we don't see her here asking if she's at risk for HIV from this...
Time for a new GP? It seems he is giving you bad advice, both clinically and personally (and doesn't know anything about HIV). Shouldn't all GP's be required to know the facts on a fairly prevalent disease?
I concur. Doctor's who have to open a medical journal to give advice about HIV shouldn't be taken seriously. Early in my HIVAD experience, I remember talking to a GP about it, and watching him open up a dusty old book to tell me I had to test to 6 months. Then the dum ass proceeded to tell me a story about a girl who got hiv the first time she had sex. Thanks Doc...you're the greatest. Needless to say, I will never go back to him.
She don't lie, She don't lie, She don't lie....Cocaine.
