Community Health vs. Lab

Community Health vs. Lab

I am planning on getting tested at 6-8 weeks and I had my first test around 3-4 weeks.  My blood was drawn at my doctor's office and sent out to a professional lab company.  Is there any advantage to being tested by a regular lab versus a county health facility?  Does one usually use a more sophisticated or modern method than another or would they generally be the same?

While newer tests can arguably provide a faster result than older ones, medical guidelines require that any approved test should be performed 3 months from possible HIV exposure for a conclusive result, in case the result comes out negative.

If you're in doubt, you can return to this thread and ask whether your test has been appropriate.

Overtesting can deliver false positive results though, so don't do it.
