Condom Broke! HIV Symptoms?

About 3 weeks ago, I had sex with an asian massage palor girl in New York when the condom broke and I was exposed for about 5 - 10 seconds.  After I pulled out I noticed that the remaining condom was wrapped tightly around the tip covering the urethra.  I then put on another condom and I finished.  Afterwards, she sprayed alcohol on my *** and groin area.  At this point, it finally sunk in what had happened and I asked her if she was negative.  She told me that she gets tested every 1 to 3 months and that she is fine - she said "trust me, no need to worry".   Two weeks following the mishap, I got a full STD panel and I'm negative, and at the same time I also acquired a bad sore throat.  I dont' seem to have swollen lymph glands nor do I have a fever.  Do I have reason to be worried?  Lately, this is all I think about.

The risk of HIV infection for your one time condom broke incident is very low.

2 weeks after exposure is a little too early for test. It may helpful for you to take a test, as it can allay your fears and offer peace of mind. One can go for a HIV test 1 month after exposure and retest at the 3rd month for a conclusive result.

Thanks for responding!  Well, today I tested along with the girl I had sex with and we are both negative.  This is 3 weeks after the "mishap".  Do you think I can put this to bed or do I need further testing?

Like mentioned if you want to test, you can go for a HIV test 1 month after exposure and retest at the 3rd month for a conclusive result.
