Condom stored in wallet

Hi,

I regret to admit that I had sex with a CSW about five years ago. I used a condom but the condom had been in my wallet for around three years. I also had sex with a woman the other night after a drunken night out and used a condom which had been in my wallet over two years. On neither occasion did the condom break.

Now I am worrying, I have read on the Internet that due to the heat and the bending in your wallet it causes the condom to have tiny microscopic holes which sperm and body fluids can pass between.

Are the condoms I used still safe?

So just to be clear, so I can move on with my life and stop my anxiety. A condom stored in a warm place for many years is as effective as a brand new condom, providing the head of the penis was covered and the condom did not break (is this obvious?), therefore there is no risk for either partner whatsoever, including pregnancy?

No reason to test as you had no risk.

Thank you for the reply. So what you're saying is my partner and I are completely 100% protected against HIV, gonorrhea, chlymadia and pregnancy despite the condom possibly being slightly passed the expiry date  and the latex possibly being weak (due to the heat in the wallet), as the top of my penis was covered?

Does the latex weakening simply increase the chance of the condom breaking and the weakening has nothing to do with the std prevention/pregnancy?

Would you suggest that the partner and I are safe to avoid having any of the above tests done and that I should just ensure that I don't keep condoms in my wallet for so long no more?

Thanks.

You found misinformation on the web. Outdated or old condom can break more easily, but if it didn't break wide open, you were protected. There is no such thing as microscopic leaks that allow transmission of STDs or HIV; that's an urban myth.  Don't worry about it.
