I am waiting please help me... I am confused..I don't know whether I can trust or not. I had a plan to marry after 4 weeks. I am afraid whether I am gonno ruin someones's life if I am infected and still in WINDOW period.
HIV tests almost always turn positive within a month after the onset of ARS.
Which indicates that whatever you had was something else, not ARS.
If you are still worried and had a real risk, wait another month and get another test then.
CDC does recommend a 3 month waiting period.
Also, the PCR-DNA test should encourage you. While they are not FDA approved for HIV screening, this is because they have too high of a false positive rate. The fact that you tested negative on the super duper uber sensitive PCR means that you are negative.
Get a rapid Ora-quik test at the absolutely definitive 3 month mark if you remain worried, but don't expect your result to change from your negative status! Congratulations!
Your test was FDA-approved, unless you got it from some dude at a flea market.
So it's reliable.
Nobody knows the exact accuracy of tests at given time points, because those studies are impossible to carry out.
But a 7-week test will surely detect 90-95% of infected people, so you should feel damn good about it.
In fact, unless you had anal sex with a known poz, you should regard your negative result as 99.99% accurate.
