Cuts and HIV

Hello Friends,

I want to talk about an incident that I had today, that resulted in extereme levels of anxiety. I'm so worried about it.

My friend cut her finger with model knife in class, during a project. It was yesterday, but still it was slight bloody and red today. Today I was holding her hand and inspecting her finger because she said it was hurting a bit. Suddenly I put some pressure on her finger with mine a bit and it her made her finger hurt so she immediatly pulled her hand, during that the cut on her finger came into contact with my finger where I also had a small bleeding spot near my nail.

Will that put me under any risk assuming that she's HIV+.

You didn't have a risk, not even if she was HIV+.

Thanks for the reply Teak.

You say no risk but is it possible to be a bit more describtive? I'm concerned because all the pieces of puzzle are here. HIV Positive Person + slightly bleeding cut on her finger coming in contact with a bleeding spot on my finger.

You did not have a large laceration. Blood flows out not in. You don't get infected by small cuts, abrasions, scratches, insect bites, etc., etc, etc. Unless you have had unprotected vaginal or anal sex then you have nothing to worry about.
