Not sure if this really would be a risk or not but because it involves our young daughter I thought I must check it out.
She recently broke her arm and needed surgery. She had to stay in over night with many very sick children and used the play area provided quite a bit. To be honest it didn't seem to be the cleanest of enviroments (our hosptials!!). Anyway I was helping a boy turn a games machine on when I turned round and saw my daughter with two bits of blue tack inserted in to her eyes pretending to be a monster. I immediately saw that one of the balls looked to have blood on it and after closer inspection saw that there seemed to be some quite fresh blood on it.It certainly wasn't crayons. I told the nurse and she took it away with her.
I understand that HIV
can't spread on enviromental surfaces (Is this right?) but because it was insterted in her eye!. Later my wife and I asked her if her eye was ok and she said that her right eye was sore. I don't know if this was because we kept asking her though as you know what children can be like!
Please feed some light on this for me as a worried parent.
Thank you both. I thought as much but when it is your little girl.!!
I just wanted to add that I really don't know how fresh the blood was but looked pretty fresh to me. Would this make any difference whatsoever even if it was just put there or how much was on it?
Can either of you or someone else with good HIV
Thanks for taking time to read this and yes I think you may be right about seeing it in "Black and White again" No more from me and I will quit worrying!
Take care you three and everyone else on this site.
