Did I over blow my situation? Risk Assement!

You had trouble posting because there is a limit of 2,000 characters for new questions; yours is almost twice that length.  Moderators have neither the time nor the energy to read such long essays.  Re-write your question at no more than half the current length in a new "comment" window and then I will respond.  (On quick scan, I'm sure you can get all the pertinent information into a question well under half its current length.)

I was with a street walker lower class of prostitute 8/4/08 in cancun, mexico

i had unprotected oral
anal sex with her (hope it was a her) im pretty sure I wore a condom but not %100
she fingered my bum

I have been tested 12 times since now then
the furthest being out to (a few weeks ago) @ 4.67 months with a rna/and elisa (the rna so no reaction detectable below 40copies) they also did syphilis and chlamydia they said gonneria would have had symptoms

also had an rna/elisa @ 8 weeks that was obviously negative... I got tested the other 10 times at random times between then

questions---

1. is there any possible way to have HIV from that exposure at this time??

2. Some times I worry that the needles the used to draw blood were dirty but my doctor said that even they were it would matter because they were drawing blood is this true?? The only think that was weird was 9 days after I drew blood on the last testa  few weeks ago i got mono like symptoms with a sore throat a fever and coughing. Thats why i think it was ars and i obviously haven't tested since then so that worrys me....

3. I got tested for std's and hiv at 15 weeks I decided I wanted to go through my own Doctor office (nice/expensive place) and they did an ELISA HIV test and full STD test including herpes everything came up NEGATIVE Except the oral herpes (not the genital herpes) but I already knew that as I get could sores a couple times a year. They also did a HEP C test. I was on antibiotic's during this time wouldn't that make the std test not accurate?? wat about the herpes and hep c??

4. also ordered some janky self hiv test from china a few weeks ago is there any biological way hiv could have survived out side the body in the solution they sent me or maybe on the lancet?

My goodness.  A dozen HIV tests???  In 5 months??  That may be the record for this forum.

You participated in no activities that were likely to transmit HIV, even if your partner was infected -- which statistically speaking, she probably was not.  But the level of risk is irrelevant at this point.  Even if you had had the highest imaginable risk of HIV -- say you had shared injection equipment with a known HIV positive person -- your multiple negative test results prove you were not infected.

That answers question 1.  To the others:

2) Nobody catches HIV from being tested for it.  I suppose it might have happened in the old days of HIV/AIDS testing 20-25 years ago, in rare events when blood-drawing needles were re-used.  But probably there has been no such case anywhere in the world in the past 10-15 years.

3) If the tests for herpes, HCV, and other STDs were negative, you weren't infected.  When antibiotics make STD tests negative (e.g., gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis) they do so because they cure the infection, not because they just cover it up.

4) Good grief.  Of course not.

Both the tone and details of your questions and, including the long versions I deleted, show you are abnormally obsessed with nonexistant health risks and/or disabling anxiety about your sexual encounter last summer.  You would do well to discuss this with your primary care provider and ask whether professional counseling is in order.

There won't be any "yes but" or "what if" follow-up discussion on this thread.  There is no information you could provide that could change my opinion and advice.  Please take that advice seriously.  I suggest it out of compassion, not criticism.

thanks doc im going to try hard to move on... this isn't a what if question, I'm just curious. But my antibiotics were for a sinus infection... I did start those until 13 weeks in to this ordeal. So if I did get an std wouldn't it have come up in my full hiv/std check up at 10 weeks?? And would antibiotics for sinus infection clear up an std infection?

I'm glad you're on therapy.  My previous comments about the antibiotics still stand.

That's all for this thread.
