If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
This is not the part of the website where the doctor answers. That part is at the link below. There is a donation required for that part to defray the costs of the site, etc.
Ok Sorry did not know. But have anyone else have anything to add to put my mind at rest.i beleive the type of test i had is the latest one but i don`t know a lot about these things.I had a look on the web and found so many conflicting test times ie 3 month six month 1 year but at nearly 11 weeks with a 4th genaration what do you good people think.Since that eposode i have quit drinking this was the cause of my problems - as they say never again..
Yes now I know what to do i will make a donation,i don`t want nothing for free just did`nt know how to make donations as i`m new to this forum. Also thought that my post might help other people on this site regarding the type of test i had, and window pariods for differant tests. With all the good people here giving feedback i think it would of helped me and someone in the same postion who don`t understand Hiv tests.Thankyou good people..
Dumbo is correct about one thing: no one here is a doctor. But, I can pretty much guess what the doctor is going to tell you - the same thing the health clinic worker told you.
Try running a search on the forums for, IIRC, something like this: "time to positive HIV test". I think that's close if not the exact phrase.
Of course, you are more than welcome to offer up a donation if you'd like and if you need to hear it from the doc himself. And, if you just can't get over the feeling that you tested too soon, you can always go back and get another test, find out it's negative, and move on with your life. Some people just need that last little bit of assurance. With the OraSure, it really is no sweat: a mouth swab and 20 minutes later you are on your way to forgetting about the whole thing ;-).
I do know you are correct down, but after making mistakes i think maybe there is a lot of guilt as well because what i did was not me but the alcohol. Its been a while since i had my tests with no symptoms what soever apart from a runny nose now and again. Now having read a lot of comments from the doc,any genaration test is conclusive at my time frame of 10 weeks 5 days (HE SAYS 6 WEEKS).I`m going to get on with my life with no more testing and hopefully put this be hind me and not make the same mistake again. After reading a lot of post`s on this forum made me realise there is always good people waiting to give support.Thankyou all so much...

The Dr. will not answer here.
Glad to hear you will make a donation even though you now have your answer. It's the only way the forum stays around.
