Do I warrant testing?

by Bryan1211, Nov 04, 2009 07:09PM
My girlfriend and I have been dating for about 3 months and she is now taking birth control so we are now considering having sex without having to use a condom. The problem is that in the past 6 or 7 months before her I had been with 3 girls unprotected, 2 were actually friends and the other was a one night stand. I have no reason to believe that any of these girls have hiv but I called my doctor and the soonest he can see me is next week and I don't know how long results for an hiv blood test take. A week?  a day? three days? Anyway I care about this girl and dont want to put her in any danger.  I have been sick a few times in the past 7 months so that makes me a little uneasy but I know that is not a reason to believe you have contracted hiv. Do I warrant testing? We were going to go away this weekend to a resort and I just wanted your advice. Thank you so much.

do you warrant testing?  do you KNOW your status?

until you are in a monogamous relationship where BOTH of you have tested...ALWAYS use condoms.  sex lasts a few minutes...HIV LASTS A LIFETIME.

how long a test takes depends on the lab.  you BOTH can have a rapid test done and get your results in 20 minutes.
