Dr. Hunter - ARS - herpes, yeast, symptoms
Hi Doctor Hunter,
I posted over the weekend but really wanted your advice as you seem to offer the best advice on this site.
All symptoms can only be from this one event.
October 21, 2007 - unprotected sex with female (not girlfriend), lasted about 5 minutes.
October 23, 2007 - noticed 2 painless ulcers on the shaft of my penis, I popped them in the shower and thought nothing of it (since realised this was probably Herpes, have not been tested for it yet)
October 24, I received antibiotics for ghonorrea (not sure of drug) and chlamydia (zithromax)without getting actual test (one dose regimen)
October 28, had sex with girlfriend, unprotected.
November 1st, starting having discomfort during urination
November 6th tested again for all urinary infections (urine tests) and ultra sound for cancer.
November 9th: Positive for chlamydia, (perhaps heavy alcohol drinking when I got the first antibiotics had affected the first chlamydia antibiotic?) - took a different antibiotic for 10 days, 100g per day, forget the name and then thought nothing of all of it.
November 26th, woke up pain in lymph nodes in left side of groin, then, over the next 2 days what felt like pulsing all over my body, working its way up the left side, enlarged lymph nodes under jaw, stiff in the back of neck, then pulsing around left wrist and right wrist, a few lumps in my neck (not lymph nodes).
This was when I started looking at STD infections online, Example: saw thrush is a symptom and then looked ar my tongue was white (and to date still is) just a lot of phlegm in the morning,would (not so much anymore)catch my food at the beginnng, disgusting smell etc... (doctor has said its not thrush but still does not feel right, maybe just lots of yeast, worst in morning) - like if I run my top teets along the tongue, my entire front of my teets is covered in this goo... also leaves like pronlunced white hairs all over tongue (maybe this is normal)
Around the same time I got a couple of nights of fever, and was so tired I did not go to work, felt like my body just needed sleep. Also a lot of muscle ache.
About 1 week after i started getting fever my girlfriend (whom I have since told of the other encounter) also started getting fever, some in the day, some at night, just lots of sweat, tired, and also a rash on her face, neck, just below her neck and some on her arms, just like small red blotches but not itchy, just like excema which she gets when crying / stressed etc... but this time more pronounced. she has a lot of muscle ache, mostly in the legs, has gone now, but was there for about a week or 2 at about week 5-6... my g/f was actually finding it hard to walk from the pain in the back of her legs.. and also some lower back pain.
She also just told me that ( about 2 weeks) after we first had sex (after the encouter) she started having some vaginal dischage and this continues still off and on (just a clear, not too much odour discharge, sometimes a glob) She also got tested for chamydia and ghonorrea around (3 weeks) after we had sex and was negative (weird as I was told I had it)
Dec 3 -(43 days) Tested for HIV (ELISA) Syphillus, Hep A, Hep B and follow up for Chlamydia and Ghonorrea - (Modern location for testing)
Dec 17 - all came back negative (need to get immunized for Hep though)
I have read that 6 weeks is fairly conclusive, you say 99% I think, and yes, follow up test to come to be conclusive but, it seemed I "seroconverted" (if I did) about a week before my ELISA... and aso fever etc... seems too far from the Oct 21 incident, that it does not seem like it could be from herpes virus, it says in blogs websites etc... this happens in 2 - 10 days...
Since then most symptoms have gone down, still a foul smell from mouth and white tongue and frequent headaches and occasionally sore lymph nodes in left side of groin)
Girlfriend still has headaches, not full blown, mainly shooting pains behind her eyes and has developed a puffy left eye causing irritations and discomfort. Also, still discharge from her vagina.
What do you make of all of this?
Could herpes be causing all these symtoms... maybe too much info here... please try to be as elaborate as possible...

Never heard about the herpes but can tell you this, 12.5 week neg back today...
Still working on building the trust with g/f again, but a major step in the right direction, physical... tick... emotional still work to do, no test to fix that....

I have gone in for follow up 12 week test, should get in a week or so, will update this....
