Dried semen

Hi,

Is it possible to get infected with HIV from licking a woman's body that happens to have dried semen from other infected partners?

I feel the need to ask this question as I had sex with a CSW, who, after the deed, put her clothes back on and never took a shower, whereas she asked me, like all her other customers, to take a shower.

The sex was protected (oral on me and penetration), but I sucked her breasts at some time. I know most of you would say "oh, there's minimal risk as it is protected," but what if I happen to lick parts of her body that has dried HIV-infected semen?

Two weeks after exposure, I experienced swollen nodes in my neck, under my jaws and above my collar bones, and until now I could still feel these nodes but not as much as before. Two days ago I began to have a sorethroat and a little cough. And today I have a slight fever about 99 degrees.

It is not "minimal risk," it is no risk. You cannot get HIV this way (even with dried HIV semen, which is doubtful she had that on her). The fever with ARS is 101+ and lasts for 1 to 2 weeks. Also, only a doctor can say if there is lymph node swelling and it's even hard for them sometimes...you are ok and I wouldn't lose any sleep over this worry. It is a non risk situation.

Thanks hopeless4now. The reason I asked the question is I heard rumors after the incident that some of the CSWs working at the massage parlor I went to would allow certain customers to not use a condom or ejaculate on their bodies, provided they like the customer or they believe is HIV-negative.

I am monitoring my body temperature now with my own thermometer. Last reading was 98.4.

Definitely not a fever (it's normal for temps to flucuate up and down, 98.6 is just the avg.). Think of it like this, if a man licks a womans VAGINA and she is known to have HIV his estimated risk is less than 1 in 10,000 chance of contracting HIV. This is under 0.01% chance...no risk...too small to worry about. And this is theororetical, not actually seen or documented in the clinical setting. So, if doing this is no risk, then licking a girls breast (dried semen or not) is beyond no risk. It's just worrying for nothing. If it makes you feel any better, I gave unprotected oral to a female CSW in Costa Rica with cuts in my mouth (ughh). I kept testing and testing until the clinic said "STOP, you were not at any significant risk to begin with, cuts or no cuts." So you see, your risk is nothing in comparison. No risk here...you're fine. Also, stop monitoring your body, it will only increase the anxiety.

One last question, hopeless4now, if it's okay with you. Did you have any possible HIV symptoms after any of your encounter with a CSW, particularly on the swollen nodes part? As you've read, I have several swollen nodes and I have never experienced to them swell at the same time in the past.

I thought I had every symptom in the book...actually, I did have realistic symptoms. But still, everyone kept telling me that symptoms mean nothing. So, I basically wasted 3 months of my life worrying for nothing when I found out I am negative. Any common infection can cause lymph node swelling and remember only a Dr. can say if nodes are inflamed...and it's even difficult for them to decide sometimes. Also, remember that lymph node swelling with HIV is generally body wide and non painful. Trust me and the others...you have nothing to worry about. No risk, no 101+ fever for 1 to 2 weeks (96% of people with ARS will get this fever), no body wide lymph swelling and the probability the CSW does not have HIV (most don't) = no HIV for this particular situation...you are fine. Just keep thinking about the facts and you will see why worrying about this is unwarranted.
