Drop of blood in my eye

Hi,

While having lunch with a large group of colleagues I suddenly felt a drop fall in my eye. Upon closer examination in the mirror. I realized it was a drop of blood. I have absolutely no idea whose blood it was or where it came from.
In case the blood was from someone who is HIV+ then what are the chances of transmission? Is it a zero risk scenario or low risk? Does this incident merit getting a test done?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I was sitting at a large table and was engrossed in a conversation with someone else when the drop hit my eye.

Is it a zero risk situation? If not I'd like to get tested for my peace of mind.

How did you not notice where it came from?Anyway it doesn't really matter because a small drop of blood poses no risk for transmission, had it been a large quantity of blood then maybe it would be worth having an HIV test but not from the situation you describe.
