Dumb Question but worth asking-needle sharing

Quick question about needle sharing and needles in general. Lets say you were pricked with a needle that no one has used 100% for sure in the past 24 hours. Even if that needle was previously pricked on an HIV + person there is no way it could be passed this way correct? And is rubbing alcohol enough to clean it just in case?

He was talking hypodermic needles. He wasn't talking sewing needles and yes there has been a lot of research in needle sharing and cleaning and how long HIV will stay active outside it's host.

No I meant a needle to ***** your finger. If it was used to ***** some one else who had hiv if I used it a few days later am I at risk? Is there any other way the virus could survive out side the body for a few days? Like in a moist environment?
