False alarm! No testing warranted, you never had a risk!

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
* After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
* Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
* Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

I hope this helps. Absolutely, addressing your concern and the logical reasoning that the doctors use to recomment duo test.

Spare another 5 week and take your final 12th week test, it's unlikely that your result would change.

HIV duo (Ab + Ag) is an excellent test at 28 days and post - The duo test looks for p24 ag and ab simultaneously and p24 ag's are almost always present in the body after acquiring the virus when the body is seroconverting but disappears as soon as detectable amount of antibodies are produced.

Hence, when tested at the 28th day or post, if the individual was actually infected and if p24 ag was present in his/her body it would have been detected and if detectable amount of antibodies were already produced, the AB part of the test would have been positive. In a nut shell, duo - Negative at 4-8 weeks = very very indicative. You should only expect a negative at your 12th week test.

Good Luck

hey please, someone can answer me? I'm afraid...in expert forum all the doctors says that the standard ELISA is sure al 100% after 8 weeks and a DUO test it's sure after 6 weeks.
Why don't you think in the same way?

Why the doctors in the expert forum says that a duo test is sure after 4/6 weeks?

it`s a good indication and if it`s negative it is unlikely to change when you go for 3 month conclusive test
