ELISA &DNA/PCR tests

Is it possible to still be infected even after a negative ELISA and DNA/PCR test?

Yes if you took the tests to early. PCR-DNA tests are not diagnostic tests.

How about if it's been more the 5 years since any risky behavior and have had multiple "non-reactive" ELISA and WB tests?  Is there any possiblility that there could be an undetectable strain?

I don't understand why hiv test results come with disclaimers stating that if the results are negative it does not rule out the possibility of infection.  The idea of having these tests done is to completely rule out the disease, but the disclaimer does not give me too much confidence that these tests are accurate in detecting the virus.

Does anyone have an opinion about the negative HIV test disclaimers?

Means if your test was done within the window period which is 3 months. You took your at five years and it will/is conclusive.
