Every Symptom

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 29, 2008 11:16AM
I will try and keep this short although there is so much to list. About 11 weeks ago I had made the mistake of giving insertive anal sex. It started with a condom but I think it slipped off by the end (unknown HIV statues) and this is where it all began.

1 week-later I had extreme dry throat
2 weeks-later felt the first lymph node on my neck swollen, right side only. Very small blemish appeared on right side face near my ear.
3 weeks-extreme tingling left foot only, few days later started to have flu like feeling (no vomiting at all) with extreme migraine headaches and back aches and fatigue that lasted about 5 days.
4 weeks-sunburn like rash with blistering on trunk, back, and face. 2 sores appeared on both sides of cheeks starting from inside my mouth and protruding to outside of face. Thought they were canker sores at first because they started in my mouth but they may have been boils since they were pus filled (like a pimple). White little bumps on lower lip and back of throat at the same time. I could never register a fever though even though my trunk felt hot (head didn't). Usually I was below average body temp (97.9F). Oh Yeah...every node in my body swelled and hurt (even nodes I didn't know about.
Tested negative ELSIA blood test at 4 weeks
5 weeks- tonsils got red, white patches on inner cheek not thrush (I do smoke though). Thrush like substance on back of tongue with swollen papillae. Dry and cracked lips (both corners of mouth)
6 weeks- mouth the same, rash is gone other than a few little spots (like pimples size) on stomach. Tongue getting whiter and thicker though.
Tested negative ELSIA blood test at 6 weeks
7 weeks- I feel fine other than thrush and white spots (more of a line where teeth meet) in mouth on cheeks and where wisdom teeth used to be. Papillae still swollen.
Tested negative ELSIA blood test at 7 weeks
8 weeks- tongue getting whiter and thicker mainly in back. (developing marks on tongue where I seem to be biting it). Side of tongue look clear other than some some thinks that look like they may be appearing along lateral vein of tongue..doesn't look like hairy leukoplakia (yet). Dry throat and mouth came back. Throat hurting a little this week and looks raw.
Tested negative ELSIA Oral test 8 weeks
9 weeks- feel fine other than mouth problems still there.
Tested negative ELSIA blood test 9 weeks
Same as 9th week..although white bumps on lower lips seem to be clearing up (not soft palate though). Papillae still swollen and thrush (or thick white stuff) only seems to be present near back of throat. I node in neck still swollen (right side, was the first to swell)
Tested negative ELSIA blood HIV 1 and 2 at 10 weeks and 2 days.

I have not been on any medication either. I am 30 and rather healthy other than smoking (used to drink alot though) and perhaps to much fast food.

Any advise?

The only advice is to stop obsessing with HIV.  The tests prove that you didn't get it, so perhaps it's time to think about something else

Forgot to mention during the rash I have 2 nights of pretty intense nights sweats and a bleeding sore in each nostril. I felt great the next morning after the 2nd night sweat though (like my flu symptoms left).

First off you would  have known if the condom had slipped off and rest of your symptoms have nothing to do with ARS. ARS symptoms are not spread out over weeks. If they happen at all, come all at once 2-4 weeks post exposure and last 1-2 weeks.

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 29, 2008 11:31AM
I know and I am 99.9% sure it did slip off for a few minutes. Main symptoms did happen all at once...week 4.

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 29, 2008 11:33AM
Guys I agree with everything you say on these forums and trust me I have read a lot and especially agree with teak (read a lot of your comments on other forums as well). Everything is just to perfect though...the timing I mean.

by Teak, Jan 29, 2008 11:33AM
What are you trying to say? You're condom slipped off and then jumped back on your penis?

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 29, 2008 11:35AM
No...it was off at the end. At first I thought I had just slipped out of it when I pulled out. It was dark...lol.

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 29, 2008 11:37AM
Tested neg on every other STD also (ecsept EBV but there wasn't any kissing)

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 29, 2008 11:56AM
What is the best test to take right now at 11 weeks for a definitive negative? PCR, DNA, RNA...I don't mind spending the money to make sure.

by al_65, Jan 29, 2008 12:07PM
I'd wait until the 12th week (3 months), so it's 100% sure.

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 29, 2008 12:23PM
which test for accuracy. guys I wouldn't be so anxious if I didn't think that perhaps I infected my pregnant GF. She had similar extreme headaches and back muscle aches at 3 weeks (face was red too). She is really the only reason for my concern here...please help.

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 29, 2008 12:36PM
forgot to mention she has had a dry cough every morning for about a month and a half now.

by SCAREDTODEATH39, Jan 29, 2008 01:09PM
Take it from another scaredtodeath you are freaking out, and yes that is the official medical term. Go have a drink and listen to some tunes and quit thinking about a disease you dont have. You definately will be sick i promise. The mind is an extremely powerful instrument dont mess with around with it.

To: everyone
Just got an 11 week 2 day oraquick HIV and it was negative...again. GF was complaining about acid reflux last night too...and she is still having headaches (and she isn't the one with anxiety).

I would be able to get over this if it wasn't for the full body "sunburn" rash. I had blisters on my face, back and mollucks looking things on my stomach...still there. Papillae are still swollen (7 weeks now) and my neck node is still swollen...for 7 weeks also.  Went to doctor yesterday and had low grade fever (99.1).

I keep trying to get it out of my head but these symptoms are not just made up...they are real. The rash (trunk, back, neck and face) that was exactly the way the described as an HIV rash everywhere I read with redness near the hairline also (itchy scalp that actually caused dandruff)  ...the muscle and headaches. Ulcers in my nose...cracked corners on my lips...all at 4 weeks too. All at once with the night sweats and every node in my body swollen and painful (even ones I didn't know existed), diarrhea, extreme fatigue, pins and needle in one foot, white tongue, sores in mouth, white bumps in mouth and lip, small purple blemish on cheek, sore and swollen throat, tonsils enlarged alittle and red.

I would just like to have some idea of if not HIV....THEN WHAT????? What out there has the EXACT same symptoms as HIV and the same timing?

I don't mean the babble on fellas...I just don't understand this. I am seeing and infectious specialist next week though. Has anyone had the severity of these symptoms before and had something else...and if so...what?

Guess I will pray my mono spot comes back positive...if not HIV would be the only other thing.

i know how you feel mate. iv had loads of possible hiv syptoms (symptoms) but have tested negative twice after 9.5 weeks and 15 weeks.  maybe were so convinced we have it, our mind is playing tricks on us. i just want to feel 'normal again' and move on but its hard.

by Leedsio, Jan 30, 2008 04:06PM
I had every symptom going of chlamydia I've had loads of tests done for various things and I had nothing wrong down there. Symptoms mean nothing. A test does mean something.

I know...but symptoms do mean something though.

by Leedsio, Jan 30, 2008 04:13PM
The thing is they don't you can have no symptoms and have something and have every symptom going and be fine symptoms are no indicator only a test will tell you the truth.

by Leedsio, Jan 30, 2008 04:17PM
The odds are also stacking in your favour with a 10 week 2days negative. Only 1 week 5 days left in which you could possibly go positive from the date of that test.

by Leedsio, Jan 30, 2008 04:20PM
A lot of if not all your symptoms are in line with anxiety as well.

by scaredtodeath77, Jan 31, 2008 08:33AM
GF has muscle aches and extreme headaches as well as a red face. She doesn't have anxiety about this because she doesn't know. So something is going on. Got my 11 week 2 day NEG. This is crazy!!!! The sunburn rash is the thing that worried me the most.

I have but he doesn't seem to know much. He is telling me 1 year for accurate HIV results and that scares me. Mono spot was NEG today and I am having them do an EBV test now. THE RASH MAN, THE RASH.

When I go to wrongdiagnosis.com and put "one tingling foot" symptom guess what comes up!!! HIV/AIDS.

Where are my HIV antibodies!!!!!

by Teak, Jan 31, 2008 10:27AM
Why are they doing a EBV test, when you had a negative mono spot? That doesn't make sense at all. You're HIV negative and you need to move on. If you cannot accept your negative result, I suggest you seek professional mental help to deal with your issues.

You tell me. I just tested positive for EBV (very high) and neg on Mono Spot test 75 days after exposure. Can HIV create EBV in body? Does it also delay Seroconversion for HIV? I thought having EBV would make me feel better better now I feel worse.

by Teak, Feb 04, 2008 10:08AM
No, HIV does not create EBV or does it delay seroconversion.

How can I test positive for EBV and Neg for Mono. could the mono antibodies be gone after 75 days I suppose.

by Teak, Feb 04, 2008 10:13AM
Discuss it with your doctor. This is an HIV forum.

I know Teak...this is an HIV issue. I am just trying to understand these symptoms in relation to HIV and EBV.

by Teak, Feb 04, 2008 10:25AM
EBV is not an HIV issue. They are not related in the least.
