Explanation for low probability of transmission

Greetings all!

I am hoping to learn more about risk of transmission -- that is, the (relatively) low rate of transmission even in the riskiest sexual activity (1/200 or there abouts for unprotected anal) -- HOwever, i cant find the good links in the expert forum. COuld someone post some links? ***Note, i am not looking for the statistics -- im looking for the explanation for the statistics!***

Thanks!!
