Exposure Thru Oral? Still Worried..

First let me thank you for getting the opportunity to ask a question to someone of your caliber. Last summer I was dating a girl whom I do not talk to any more and never will.
We had protected intercourse a few times. I also engaged in oral sex both ways once with her. My oral health at the time was not so great. Two months prior I got my wisdom teeth removed and was recovering with no problems.

Soon after the oral encounter with her, I developed a bad sore throat that went away with antibiotics. At that point I waited 3 months and got tested for HIV, which was negative. I waited another 3 months and got tested at 6 months, which was also negative.

The reason why I write to you is because everytime I get sick I immediately think back to the encounter I had with her. I then speculate, and then wind up believing my results were not conclusive. I just want some reassurance that I can put this encounter to rest and move on with my life and never think about this again.

Thanks.

All HIV test results at least 3 months after the last possible exposure are conclusive.  You're not infected with HIV.  Move on.

Sorry Doc if this is a "splitting hairs" type of question but in regards to a 3 month test.........is that 12 weeks or 90 days?  Does it make a difference?  Thanks!
