worker. We only performed one position (missionary position). After two minutes or so, I ejaculated inside of her. I then gave her a very quick kiss (no tongue
worker then helped me clean up with a small tower. I asked her is the tower clean, she said yes. Though, I think her fluid might have contracted my private hair and skin, I washed it right after I got home.
So, 3.5 days after the incident (April 24 2007) (or to be exact 96 hours), I was very worried and decided to call Medicaltestingcenter.com for advice. I spoke to a counselor and explained that it has only been 3.5 days after the exposure. I asked can I get tested now and how reliable is the result. The counselor said yes, and it is 90%-95% accurate. He then further explained that they are using new technology, the DNA PCR Testing (LabCorp), that can be used after 72hrs from the exposure, if a person becomes infected the virus replicates and this test is looking a very small amount of blood. So, I signed up for the HIV
/STDs testing. And I took the test same day (April 24 2007). So I got the result today (April 26 07) back for today, and negative for Herpes Simplex I & II, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Hepatitis B&C. I will get result for HIV in the next few days. So my questions are: How reliable is the result considering I get tested 3.5 days after the exposure? Can you please confirm what the counselor said was true? I am really worried now, the result might be a false negative because it is too early to detect. I did call back and ask the counselor, he said the PCR DNA test is very sensitive and it will detect the virus DNA after 72 hours. Since my results are negative, I have nothing to worry about. Though, I've heard that for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea, it takes 5
$879 is really a lot. However, if it is accurate and reliable then money is not a problem. This can buy me a lesson. As i was extremely worried, so I really wanted to get tested.
So, do you guy think the results from PCR DNA after 3.5 days reliable? Do you think I should get tested again just to be sure?
The counselor insists that it is not necessary as the PCR test is very accurate due to it sensitivity. Yet, I heard that the PCR is sensitive enough to detect the presence of an HIV infection conclusively after 28 days from the time of possible exposure. So what if i get tested before 28 days. Is there any difference?
Also, I heard that for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea, it takes 5
They say for a conclusive PCR DNA test, it's 28 days. Remember, the timeline. You first have to have the exposure, then you have the process of infection then you have to have enough in your blood system for the test to pick. Testing to early even with a PCR DNA test can give you a negative result.
879 dollars, kiss them goodbuy. why?
1) you wore protection, so you didnt even need testing.
2) an antibody test at the appropriate time would still need to confirm any result, positive or negative. syphilis testing at 3.5 days is nto reliable, you need up to 3 mos for accurate results, others may be reliable but, well you were protected.
3) local health dept. would have tested you for free at the appropriate time.
