Thanks for the information Vince. Its just very difficult to get over a false positive test, even after having multiple negative tests after the first false positive. And then with having multiple symptoms (mouth ulcers, swollen lymph nodes, and others). My last question was about the validity of the RT-PCR-RNA test at 160 days (<20 copies/ml). Mine was negative at 160 days. Thanks
Trust your results, I been in your shoes.. I had a negative PCR RNA TEST at 9months and it was negative.. I retested myself at 18months now with a 3rd gen antibody and it was NEGATIVE.. Trust your results after window period
Hello Vance.
Vance, can I get the answer to my last question?
What is your opinion on the RT PCR RNA Test at 160 days (<20 copies)? Do you think someone infected and without treatment could have this result at 160 days post exposure?
Thanks.
Already been answered. Stop abusing the forum and see a Dr for your anixety.
Good Morning Vance, one more question before I move on (Please, Please...).
What is your opinion on the RT PCR RNA Test at 160 days (<20 copies)? Do you think someone infected and without treatment could have this result at 160 days post exposure?
Thanks.
It was done in a Lab out of the country and I cant find a way to contact them. The test result document says (transalated from spanish to english)
"Equipment/and Method:" COBAS E-411 / ECLIA"
HIV Test - NEGATIVE
Please help here. Thanks
Ask where that test was done.
Can you just answer the generation of the ECLIA Test COBAS E-411(3rd or 4th)?
I wont ask anymore. Thanks
False negatives don't happen
Vance, sorry I keep asking questions all over again. Could you answer this?
1) Can the PCR RT RNA (<20 copies) test be false NEGATIVE at 160 days after exposure?
2) Can you get a flase NEGATIVE on the ICMA test at 98 days or 10 weeks after the first positive ICMA test?
3) Do you know if the ECLIA COBAS e-411 Test is a 4th or 3rd Gen Test?
4) Can I trust the Oraquick home tests?
5) I forgot to mention that I did another Oraquick (9 days after the last one or 6 months after exposure) and it was negative (only a line on the C).
Thanks
Could get another false positive.
So if I take another test today I should expect a Negative result?
Thanks
It was a false positive, simple as that. You have 5 negative test after the window period, you don't have HIV.
Vance, Thanks for answering, I really appreciated.
What is your take on the first test? The ICMA was Repeatedly Reactive with a value of 1.45: but then, the HIV 1/2 Differentiation Test (HIV 1 Non-Reactive and HIV 2 Non-Reactive):
Why this happened?
Can I trust the Oraquick tests and the RNA?
Thanks
1) Yes
2) Yes
3) Ok
4) No
5) Do whatever you do
