than I finished too early. I went down on her for 10-15min.
I got really scared the next day, and started to think I got infected.
I went right away to the general clinic and did a urin anay/blood for STDS which came back clean. They did a blood HIV
test as well which was negative too but I know at day 7 that is too soon. So I took at PCR DNS at 15 days which was negative. I still talk to her and she said she went in and took a HIV
center here says I need to get tested at 3 months. This is what brought all this on. Nick say I had unpro vaginal sex not oral, would my tests still prove I didnt contract it?
You mentioned you had an unprotected intercourse. So, there is a risk for HIV here althought it is very uncommon to get it in just single exposure like this.
HIV testing should be done after 3 months to get an accurate result.
I am basically saying is if I did have sex with this girl. If she and I both tested NEG at 7 weeks and plus my DNA PCR test showed negative as well would we both be in the clear?
If I were you I would look for a test result after 3 months. Why, because I dont know anything about this gurl, such as how many sexual intercourses she had before me etc. etc.
The reason 3 months was chosen to be a proper time is because enough HIV antibodies are present in blood to make a good call.
But again, some ppl would consider 7-8 week as well to be okay. It's upto you.
You DID NOT have intercourse so that "What If" question makes no difference. But yes if that was the case the YES I would of advised you to test at 3 months, BUT I told you NO RISK so that means you never had a risk and do not need testing at all.
I am basically saying is if I did have sex with this girl. If she and I both tested NEG at 7 weeks and plus my DNA PCR test showed negative as well would we both be in the clear? NO
A 6-8 week test is HIGHLY unlikely to change at 3 months, BUT a test at 3 months will give you a 100% conclusive result. You do not need to test for your NO RISK exposure
So if you guys were me you wouldn't get tested? NO
She had major stomach surgery this year, would that cause a HIV test to show different results? NO
This forum has nothing more to offer you other than to say you were never at risk and do not need testing for HIV. Nothing you add to this will change your no risk exposure.
"All I want to know is if we both test NEG at 8 weeks would that be conclusive enough for any encounter?"
IF somebody is in a window period, then this forum recommends a test at 3 months.
However, this forum defines someone who is in a window period as someone who had unprotected VAGINAL or ANAL sex, or shared IV drug works. Oral sex DOES NOT trigger a window period.
THEREFORE, since you only had ORAL SEX, you ARE NOT in a window period and DO NOT need to worry about when a result is 'conclusive enough'.
Hope this helps. And yes, if I were in your shoes I would have no problem being intimate with my wife- I would not even have tested for HIV in the first place.
In the expert forum they say 8 weeks is very good about 95+% of showing ones status regarding any encounter.
So what you say is oral sex isnt an encounter but if I tested NEG at that time I should be at peace knowing that?
