Hi All,
Well been doing a lot of searching on the internet for information about the transmission of HIV through female to male vaginal sex. Due to this being my risk.
I have found a lot of information out there some as documented facts and some as research with no actual documented proof that the risk for a male to get HIV from a HIV+ female through a single act of unprotected sex is allmost unheard of. Yes there have been cases where it has happened but there has been underlying factors when it comes to this (open cuts and sores from other STD's).In some cases where statistics have been reported the male individual that has been diagnosed HIV+ from a female has been re-interviewed and more often than not has admitted that they have had male to male contact and are bisexual and where to imbarressed to admit it in the first case. The other thing that has been pointed out in many a text from experts is that most of the time a male will become infected HIV+ due to having unprotected sex with a female partner numerous times or be in a relationship with the female HIV+.
I can not get my head around this when others sites and even experts or so called experts say that the risk of transmission no matter gender is high if having unprotected sex. I find this a lot on thebody not like this forum where we get the facts and we get a mathamatical risk factor and lets just say the truth.
Does anyone on here agree that it is difficuilt for a male to be infected with HIV from a one of unprotected vaginal sex exposure. The amount of research that I have done and even from Dr HHH's answers it would seem that he would agree.
