with my wife since posting my original question. My wife continues to be be immuno suppressed from the organ tranplant, and about nine months ago had a hysterectomy
due to endometrial cancer. Her first follow up pap was normal, but the second was abnormal, but while not cancerous did reveal she has HPV. Do HPV and HIV statistics or causes correspond (is one more common, is their tranmission related), is it possible I have developed HIV and / or HPV and passed it to her without having sex, or could it be her or I just had HPV for a lot of years and in her immuno suppressed state the HPV remained. Again my wife and I have not had sex for 12 plus years. I never tested for any STD except for HIV and whichever is tested for in getting a marriage license, none were positive. If this is the improper forum or if I should ask as a new question please let me know. Thank you.
HPV does not trasmit HIV and does not make it easier to acquire HIV. Herpes can make it easier to transmit but not HPV. A lot of the population that is sexually active has some form of the HPV strand, most are harmless. HPV can also pass on even if you are using a condom.
HPV is acquired through sex or oral sex and genital contact. HIV is acquired through unprotected sex and sharing needles. While it may be possible you gave her HPV, or may be she had it from before, you tested negative for HIV and you have engaged in protected sex thereafter, you dont have HIV.
