, he just tested positive in july, have not seen him in over a year, he has not been sick or anyhtign until recently in july of 2010, i have no symptoms or have had any symptoms, so how great is my risk. its was once for about one minute maybe if that very quick.. my wife has given blood since then, yes i know i mde a mistake, but she has had no call backs or any symptoms what so ever either. are we sure we are negative since her test came back ok from donating blood.
for years before finding out his status. so there is a possibillity he had the virus when you were with him a year ago. Your chance of being infected from your exposure is low around 1 in 1000 BUT it only takes one time and one minute is a short time but still warrents testing. Your wifes status has nothing to do with yours. It has been long enough, get tested asap and put this behind you- But until you get your results dont have unprotected sex with your wife. Please
I am not trying to scare you but you need to test odds are you will be fine but get the answer from a test.
Yes, HIV infected men have been known (In some cases) to not infect there wifes for years. but the risk is very high that she can become infected if you are infected. I would take her neg result to calm your worry ,but test and make sure you are ok before you continue having unprotected sex with your wife.
