Friend bit his tongue...

Last night at a bar, I had shared an alcoholic, mixed drink with my friend who had bit his tongue only minutes beforehand.  I have sinus drainage in the back of my throat which has been red for the past month.  I drank out of the same straw as him... Would anyone please evaluate my risk?  He didn't tell me he was positive until hours later before we left.  Keep in mind, he is now 22 and was infected when he was 18 or 19 and has not taken any medication whatsoever for it.  I am well aware the virus cannot survive well outside the host, however, I'm not so sure about on a straw or in an ice-cold drink.

Sincerely,

Greg

thanks so much!  I wasn't quite sure because there may have been blood in his mouth but I read so much contradictory information online about the spread and risk.. thanks again!

NO risk whatsoever!!!!  Transmission is impossible in that manner.  No worries.
