I know how you feel, I've been like this before(perform cunnilingus).Still feeling anxiety, afarid of test.I've visited a lot website, some say no risk and some say little risk. Expert in this forum says very low risk. And I visit a Australian offical website, they say: There are no document cunnilingus infection cases, you won't contract HIV by cunnilingus, but there are oral transmission between man by ejaculate in mouth.
No one in a forum can give you a 100% diagnosis; only a test can give you that.
All we can do and AIDS Vancouver is give you the fact's and give you what is considered low and high risk.
AIDSVancouver has practically told you are negative, but being a responsible site will never say 100% certain.
You are negative but it your choice if want to be tested.
Thanks Vance, I found this on a different site, which is what was confusing me.
As per them they say there are some cases by giving oral sex, is that true?
and they are also asking me to take test at 12 weeks mark.
First, according to the standards of World Health Organization, fingering is considered a "negligible" risk activity for HIV transmission. This means that there has never been any cases reported of anyone acquiring HIV this way. Further, "giving" oral sex is considered a "low risk" activity, meaning that although HIV is usually not transmitted this way, there has been some cases reported of HIV transmission by giving oral sex.
As far as the symptoms you described, we don't diagnose HIV based on any symptoms, because symptoms can mirror other infections. The only accurate way of knowing you HIV status is by having an HIV test done. You mentioned the Oraquick home kit test, but I actually don't recommend doing any home kit tests, since they may show inaccurate results if not done properly. Instead I encourage you to get tested at a health care facility (which also can give you an Oraquick if ask) and also have procedures to assist anyone with a positive result. An HIV test would be conclusive after 12 weeks post-exposure. Again, the activities you described are overall at "low" risk for contracting HIV, and it would be unlikely for HIV to transmit this way, but a test can give you the peace of mind and eliminate your stress about this.
I hope I've answered your question. Feel free to contact us again, or visit us at AIDSVancouver.org.
