Got a call back from the Health Department already...

Jeezzz... this nightmare just wont leave me.  I got a call back 2 hours after I left and they told me I was negative for Gonahria (sp) but that I do have an unusual amount of bacteria in my penis (tested using a swab) and that I should get on anti-biotics.  Is this something I should worrie about?

I don't understand this because I did have a condom covering the tip of my penis.  I am only concerned because I had an exposed cut on penis that came in contact with vaginal secreations.

It can be NGU, which can occur without necessarily having a bacterial std.  Just follow their instructions.  Was your chlamydia test also negative?

Clyamidia test results take 48 hours.  

I am just wondering if this should cause a little more concern regarding HIV infection?

The nonsexual side of of NGU may include:

Urinary tract infections, an inflamed prostate gland due to bacteria (bacterial prostatitis),a narrowing or closing of the tube in the penis (urethral stricture,)a tightening of the foreskin so that it cannot be pulled back from the head of the penis (phimosa) or the result of a process such as inserting a tube into the penis (catheterization).


If you wore a condom, most likely it isn't sexually transmitted.  Your partner would have had to have hiv or std's in order for it to be transmitted.  Unless the condom broke, (which you would notice if it had)you don't have to worry about hiv or anything else.

And... how can I get any bacteria infections if I wore a condom and it stayed in tack.  That is why I am concerned that this could have something to do with HIV.

I went back in this morning and they told me I had NGU.  Good call.  I just don't understand how I could have gotten this.  My fiance is clean of infections (I know she hasn't been with anyone else) and when I made my mistake I used a condom.  

Well, I am going to take the medication anyway.
